Fucking. Greyhound. Someone, somewhere, is paying for his return trip home, seeing as he's still not here and he was supposed to be here yesterday at 2:35. I figured they had some wiggle room, but not 24 hours worth!

I'm not sure if this is better or worse than the last time I heard, which was 7 in the damn morning. The upshot of that would be that I would have minimal time to continue obsessing [Really, you go more than a year without seeing someone and we'll see if you worry if the two of you will be able to get along or if you'll fizzle] what with sleeping and all. The downside? 7AM. Yeaaah. But I was exhausted [JoP marriages are hard work] so I passed out a little after 7PM yesterday. I wake up at 2:22, thinking it's like, 5 or something, stumble downstairs, read the note from mumsy that says it's back to an afternoon pickup, and I think, "Shit."

At least yesterday I had a wedding to go to to kill time and keep me from spazzing out. Today all I've got is more mindless shuffling of stuff from one side of the room to the other. And maybe conning mom into going to the post office to pick up Hello Kitty. Yup, that's right. One attempt and she's in lockdown at the PO. The hell? I'm not even sure they actually tried to ring the doorbell since I was HOME Monday afternoon and the dogs did not freak out and they always do when the mailman gets out of his little truck. So I'm thinking it wasn't my normal mailman and the sub didn't bother. [Normal mailman is nice and always brings me shiny things. Subs will drive off and be at the next house when I skip to the mailbox and see the little orange paper that lies and said, "Hey, I tried to give you something but you didn't answer. No, you didn't, as I creepily watched you from the door. Come back here!]

That could be worth a distraction...

Oh, and Cass & Matt did get hitched. I know you were worried, as well you should have been. There were still problems when we made it to Monks Corner [$20 cheaper to get your license out there] like... it appears they ran out of ink to fill in the actual license and then there was a paper jam or something and it took an extra half an hour just to fill in the blanks. So Liz and I [the almighty witnesses!] held up our hands to make hearts as we watched the couple wait, and wait, and wait. And we joked about Liz being the father of the bride since she paid the $20 fee to get 'em hitched right there at the probate court. After awhile we ran out of "she's got your eyes", "*sniffle*, mah baby's all growed up!", "and to think, she didn't even knock him up first!" jokes and we tried to ID the random country music they were playing in the office. Finally came the big moment and I swear, I did not laugh each time the judge [was she? I think she said she was... I was a little busy being distracted by the following issue] would say "Maffew" instead of Matthew. Cuz, y'know, it would have been rude. Liz explained the father of the bride jokes, Cass explained the elopement-vibe, and Ms. Maffew was very nice about the whole thing. I'm not sure, but I suspect we made her day. Just sayin'.

Afterward Cass had to go to work but everyone made a stop at O'Charleys and they had a shot each of some godawful tequila. I would have, too, but I left my ID somewhere and I don't know where that is. I think it's in the bathroom or something. Is funny because I think I'm the oldest of the four of us, although maybe Liz is. Hours pass by and I look her up and I am the oldest. Granted, everyone got carded and I'm not heartbroken over the loss of an overpriced shot, but still.

Rain! Because today just couldn't get more splendiferous.

Pullip!Fab. Nikea will win. I'm not even going to try and pretend otherwise.

Oh, and the other day I made it out to the Trade-A-Book in Summerville. Go figure, I think the one in Monk's Corner is easier to find and is my next grail-stop. Anyway, I brought in two bags of books, they took a few, but not enough to cover the incredibly small pile of books [ten?] I picked up. Luckily Mumsy wanted two books, so she bought mine for me. I have a nearly full bag of books to lug back there next time. Which, I should say, is my big problem with that store. One of the ladies is really nice about your books not being loved, and at least two of the others [are there two others? I dunno, but I think so.] are kind of meh. Not as meh as when they told Mumsy her books were too old. ... Books are never too old, lady. NEVER. Sigh.

Anyway, my pile of books probably would have been a better trade if my books-to-trade hadn't been from the late 80's/early 90's and thus three times cheaper than the ones I bought, which were all late 90's at the very earliest. Three babysitter's club books and the rest were more recent SVT books, as they were the only ones I knew full well I didn't have. I get confused on the earlier Twins books because I used to have quite a few, then they got lost and I bought some to fill up the gaping hole, and then I found some more and... yeah, it's a revolving door at times, and not necessarily by choice.

Thunderstorm means I'm off to read some chick-lit. Or maybe I'll read Eclipse, as the library finally remembered me. Should read the chick-lit first as it's overdue...
