Hmm. I plan on commenting to comments, but I've also planned on that for a couple of days. In my defense, I felt like crap Friday, Saturday was the Ides of March and there was a fun tornado warning [which I'll get into in just a moment], and Sunday I actually got to leave the house for the early afternoon.

I know. Stop the presses and let's cue the peasants dancing in the streets. Left. The. House. For more than a grocery store/work run. My joy, she cannot be properly contained.

Back up to the Ides. How appropriate that in forgetting Chanelle's birthday on the actual day of, the weather freaked the fuck out? Oh yeah. Good times. It was sunny as I got off work and as I made breakfast [why, oh why, would anyone want me to make them eggs, bacon, and toast? Sugary rolls of diabetic coma, sure. Those I do pretty well with, but everything else?] but the moment I went to make my own, the sky started to darken. Woke up for dinner, which Dad made and was yummy, and I ditzed off a bit because, hey, yummy food and I was in a good mood. As I was trekking upstairs to sleep, I passed the TV and they were screaming, "OH GOD! We're all gonna die! The tornadoes are coming! The tornadoes are coming!"

To which I peeked outside and the sky was awfully dark... My cat followed me to my room and the moment my head hit the pillow, the room turned white. The lightning was so bright and so frequent that I didn't sleep at all. Okay, fair enough. I went to turn my computer off and had a bit of a battle with that. Then the cat hid under Widget's bed and I had to con her out and the news was still promising Armageddon. Fun. They were going to call the warning off a little after 8:30 and so the cat and I watched the lightning, trying not to imagine we were hearing things. A little after 8:20, Dad calls up the stairs for me, so I grab the cat and run downstairs. Cuz if I haven't mentioned this enough, tornadoes freak. me. out. The next hour is spent with Mumsy, Dad, the dogs, and Belle all sitting around the TV, marveling at how the weekend weather people are so obviously not from 'round here as they were tripping all over the easier funky county names. Also, I spent five minutes waiting for someone to notice the flashing light on the TV that obviously signalled something. They did, and it was a hail report. The second one? "Oh, report of a tornado fucking up *mumble mumble*" Uh, okay. Thanks, guys. There was hail, rain, and my heart nearly went into overdrive, but basically I lost a lot of sleep for nothing. Woe. That's woe for no sleep, not for the lack of windy death.

Sunday I spent the morning at work [the last two hours of my shift] reading Wildwood Road which I didn't buy since I was going to go to BAM after work. Idiot! When, when will I learn? BAM only has sales when I shouldn't be spending money. BAM doesn't have any books I want unless I can't spend money on them. BAM and the library work together to mock me endlessly. I went in with the following possibility list:

any of the YA Rachel Caine books after Glass Houses. - All I found? One hidden copy of Glass Houses. Sigh.
Wildwood Road- I found all of three CG books and not a one was WwR. Dammit!
the next two Private novels - They only had Inner Circle. I did buy that.
the second BSC graphix book. - They had the first and MA Saves the Day. I just bought MA when I ordered the new KH book. :(

Now, I did debate keeping my card for when the new Dresden book comes out. BUT then I remembered that if it's hardback, might as well buy it from Amazon. Plus, I think there are a couple of other books I wanted from Amazon, too, so... Yeah. I eventually found where they'd hidden the bargain books, wept for the lack of any real joy until I came across one of the YA MaryJanice Davidson books. For $1.97! Score! So that, Inner Circle, a Buffy book [I know, but everytime I look for it online, I fail], and the UK Glamour with Lindsay on the cover, and my gift card was done. Was fun, though.

There's a new A-List book though. I was seriously tempted.

Target was far more dangerous. They had Scrubs on sale! :D So, y'know I had to buy the missing seasons. S5 & 6. Honestly, I should have just seen if I could have used my card there, but no. I wanted books. Um, a magazine file, four 12 packs of pepsi, two 6-packs of pepsi, two 2-liters of pepsi [shut it!], two cereal bowls, a bath thingy, and two photo albums later, I emerged triumphant. I ran into Carol, who used to shop at Walgreens almost every night. She seems to be doing really well, for which I'm glad. She's really nice and I like her a lot, and I'm glad things turned a corner. Also saw one-week old twins. They looked so much like dolls [as in unreal] that I would've thought this was a family of those nutty folks who push dolls around as if they're real, had one of them not proceeded to freak the hell out. :P I don't think doll designs are up to that just yet.

Wow. Painfully dull, eh? I bought stuff. I am broke-ish, but I have Scrubs. What else does a girl need?

And now for a moment of laughter.

My mail today consists of a box from Amazon and a little green envelope.

From Seacoast.

Y'know? The church cult.
