When will I learn that the pretty sort of pale I occasionally manage to pull off means any second now I'm going to have a very, very bad day? The only good thing about periods [for me] is that it's like mother nature slapping me on the back and shrieking, "congrats! No spawn for you!" My ear also hurts and I left my Cherry Coke in the car. :(
On the plus side, there's Publix cake downstairs. But there isn't the new Radar mag with Shannen on the cover. Frickin' Publix and the Teeter. I always get confused as to who sells which magazine.
Today's book recommendation is Looking for Alaska. I'd seen it every single time I'd gone to the Books A Million bargain table, and I've picked it up five times, but each time something else would catch my eye, and the three or four dollars went elsewhere. Picked it up at the library and brought the book with me when I waited in line Tuesday. Lost the book until yesterday and when I found it again, I didn't put it down until I was done.
Badly done description: Pudge, collector of last words, goes to boarding school, by choice, in search of a Great Perhaps. As is usually the case, he meets a small group of weirdly awesome friends and life ensues. The book is divided in two parts. Before and After, and there's a countdown to... the event. Which I didn't want to see coming, so I didn't. It's funny, laugh out loud funny, and it'll break your heart just enough that you can't put it down until you figure out the Why, or if it's even possible. So, yeah, all the great things I'd read about it? Actually worth it. Go! Go read.
