And now we revisit the joys of Expiration codes.
There are some I can read, no problem. The really easy ones that tell you, flat out. "best by february 24, 2009" are my favorite. I also accept the same in terms of 2-24-09 and even 022409. That last one trips some people up because usually there's mode coded crap to go along with it. Too much, or placing it in the middle will blow my mind til I figure it out, but still. My favorites are the Nestle/Hershey ones because they're gobbledygook until you're told what they mean and then it's so obvious that your brain will automatically translate. Well, that or you'll be singing abcdefg..." while ticking the letters off on your hand until you reach the desired letter. [Don't buy anything before 9C, kidlets, and we're far enough into March that you should probably be wary of 9D too] Yet this code, no matter how many times I explain it, no one seems to get. They stare. Even when I cover up the nine thousand letters/numbers and point out that the bit they want is the part sectioned off at the end/next row. Blank stare.
But it's been a few years since I picked that one up and dude, I want to be able to tell how dead my 3 Muskateers bars are, so after months of waiting for the store cheat sheet to reappear, I found my own.
And now I know that I loathe the Julian dating method. What the hell, people. What. The. Hell. Math should not be part of my expiration date pulling process. On the other hand, it appears it would be the middle months that would be a bitch or so, so... I guess I'll deal.
Also, this whole dragon cave being down all the effing time can kiss my ass. You kill my poor baby dragons and I'll cut you. Or have the cat do it for me.
