impy: tori from jackie's strength video (confused b)
I should warn you that if I start to get a little snippy or morose in the coming weeks, tis to be expected. April Fools Day used to be a good day. Not so much for pranks aside from that one year we tried to convince people Nantcee was preggers (made more horrible by the fact that we were 12) but for the anniversary-ness of it all. Is why there's booze in the house. Just in case, lovey. I don't really foresee this being as bad as, say, last year or anything, but it's not outside the realm of possibility for the day to bring me down.

Moving right along. It frightens me when I see posts/entries/anything written, really, from people who have kids where the words are used incorrectly. Not cutesy Buffy-ish ways, wherein you kill the English language for fun, but honest-to-God don't know enough to fix "living" when what you really meant was "leaving". Really. At first I thought it was just a mistake. Sometimes I swear my brain dies on me at the strangest times and for the oddest words, so I do understand that sometimes you really do go a bit dumb for a moment. It happens. But it's usually an isolated incident. No. This person's post was riddled with pain.

You have kids! Set a better example! It's no fun realizing all too early that you're smarter than your parents*. Half the fun is expecting them to kick your ass in any given scenario because they're semi-intelligent beings.

*- I'm guessing though I don't know for sure. My parents are both pretty smart. :P

The brief spring thaw brought out at least one palmetto bug, so this afternoon the munchkin will be cleaning like he has never cleaned before. "But, Impy! That hardly seems fair! You're a slob of the highest order! Why does he have to do all the work?"

Because he grazes and has bags of trash up here that he was supposed to actually throw out for the last freakin' month. He leaves opened drink containers (not glasses) around and bits of food that Lady hasn't found or choses to ignore. Also? I plan on taking care of my portion of the mess, thank you very much. Sheesh. I'm not all that horrible.

Speaking of which, I should probably grab group one and head off to do a smidge of cleaning, then start on my breakfast.

Finally: As a kid (or however old I was when the movie came out) I loved The Cutting Edge. I had the movie poster on my wall and still have it, somewhere, though I think it was loved a bit to pieces as it was always on my wall, somewhere. But we're now on the fourth damn movie and the clips I see all seem... the same. Really, it's like they just sort of update it a smidge enough for the time. And the last two (3 and 4, I guess?) have the same female lead and I swear, the only difference that I saw in the clips I watched while setting up the DVR for Mums was that the new guy is Michael from Roswell.

Do we really need four versions of the same movie? Or are they all different enough and I just don't see it because I haven't watched most of the ones after the first, although I did see most of 2 (I think) and it seemed really heavily edited.

I lied. Finally-for real this time: Tis the Ides of March! If you're me, or possibly four other people on the planet, you hear that and your brain mispronounces it on purpose, then followed by a snicker and someone whispering, "The idiot of March," before being smacked. Wherever you are, happy birthday.
