And now for the love
Sep. 8th, 2012 03:49 pmI think we all need a moment to sit back and take in something awesome. I've been meaning to post this for ages, but every time I'm ready to fangirl properly, something else comes up or I forget what exactly I was going to do until I'm half asleep and on the other side of the house and my phone will not do because it requires links to be shared. So I apologize for this being so late and possibly not quite as awesomely worded as it should be.
Back in July I was super excited for The Sweet Life to begin. It was set to start (after it had been moved back at least once before) on my birthday and I was thrilled. New Sweet Valley for my birthday! Only it got delayed a week so I was disappointed. :/
And then the lovely and talented
luxken27 sent me an email with my birthday present.
Sweet Valley Confidential was a trainwreck of wish-it-were-epic proportions and one of the worst, most WTF things about it was the character assassination of Winston Egbert. We'd both lamented poor Winston's fate and then she fixed it. :D
Tears of a Clown manages to break Winston out of the group without doing horrible things to his character and manages to break my heart all at the same time. The author's notes give you a behind the scenes look at the creation of the fic and quotes from the source material that will make your eyes bleed. (SVC was a waste of trees, people. Waste of trees.)
I cannot recommend it enough, especially if you suffered through SVC. Read it and rejoice.
