With the cat declaring war on the world, I've been cleaning in little bursts of frantic, manic cleaning frenzy. Which works to a point, though it does make me question my mental health a little at times because I get obsessive about it until it's done. But it's a controlled burn, as it were, so I suppose that's probably working in my favor.
Woke up numerous times during the night and each time I thought "alright! Time to begin my day!" I'd realize that what woke me up wasn't the internal clock saying sleep is done but rather the super fun joy of cramps trying to kill me in my sleep. It was most disconcerting because my brain was still in sleep mode, so it was interpreting things a little weirdly. o_O
Yesterday I decorated the mantel with Halloweeny stuff. I considered dusting but it's Halloween and I couldn't remember where the duster was so that'll have to wait til I remember to bring it downstairs (it's in my room, future!me) or it's time to swap things out for Christmas or maybe Thanksgiving. I'm rather proud of the display. This is also the first year I remembered to display my Halloween snowglobe that Mums bought me years ago. The bats fly around when it's cranked up. :)
Next stop will be picking the Halloween books on the bookcase and showing them off as decorations as well. But that's not my cleaning project for the day, so we'll have to see how it goes.
Cleaning project of the day- DONE. Which leaves me itching to rearrange the bookcase. Because I'm that much of a book nerd.
I have no idea what to do for the MH comm contest this year. Am I normally this stumped for ideas or is this a new development? I can't recall. No ideas. At all. I'm pretty sure I've usually got at least a vague idea at this point but... nothin'. :/ And I love the contest. *muse*
Continuing my random thoughts of the day, I thought I'd remind/inform any one of the AG loving sort that Cécile's and Marie-Grace's Summer Outfits are Limited Edition and will either sell out* or stop being sold December 31, 2012. Ditto their Courtyard Furniture which I would buy but I have no money for it and no real space for it either. I do own the dresses and I have this little mini review for them:
Cécile's is a decent idea executed horribly. The material is too thin (see through is not a good look) and it feels too slippery. It also looks pretty bad on Cécile, which is an interesting trick. :P I don't remember if I tried it on anyone else just to see if that helped or not, but I have seen it look better on Marie-Grace so it's quite possibly a matter of opinion. I do like the hat and the boots sold me on the whole thing. *shrug* Considering the NOLA girls aren't selling too well, I imagine this one will either be one of those that's harder to find in the future or impossibly easy to find because people bought it thinking it would be harder to find and more sought after because no one friggin' bought it. I'm just not sure which way I'm leaning towards. Full disclosure: I'm not a fan of super bright yellow fabrics and this is an eye-searing yellow in pictures.
Marie-Grace's dress, on the other hand, did very little for me in stock-photos and even in other people's photos but in person? Love. It! if my want list weren't so long, I'd consider another one because it's that nifty. Cécile ran away with it the moment it got here and hasn't taken it off all year. It's that pretty. Seriously, I recommend this one with two thumbs up, five stars, and a confetti parade.
I need a shower. I'm all dusty and it's not pretty, but I don't know if the boy's working today and I don't think it's right to take my shower when he should be taking his... assuming he has work, y'know? But when I was going to take it earlier, the CPW people were out and I didn't really want to get caught in the shower without water as they fixed something or other. *debates*
