Sunny side up
Aug. 5th, 2013 12:22 amThis move is killing me. The bright side, and I would like to put this out there right up front, is that when I manage to move aside enough of the day's crap and get to my new house, it's very calming. It doesn't hurt that last night and tonight have been/will be devoid of the boy so I won't have to tiptoe around him.
I think the key to moving is to just not think too much about what a horrible mess you're currently in. You keep your eye on the prize and develop tiny goals to keep you sane enough to suffer through things.
Or something. I'm not really sure at this point. Like for instance, the fact that my computer is on the floor while the desk it belongs on is right behind me, but instead of moving the desk to where it belongs (five feet, if that!) they... just piled more crap on top of it and put yet more crap in front of the computer, too. But the crap in front of the monitor is easily moved, hence my midnight update.
Or how they threw stuff in my room without a thought as to where my mattress would go. Better still, how they threw stuff on and around Widget's bed so one cannot sleep there.
So. Baby steps to uncover these things and the hope that a good chunk of this stuff is either easily put away (when one can get to one of the storage areas) or thrown away.
I wonder if the shower is free...
(Coming this week: Pictures of the hole in my wall, before and after!)
