I love quite a few of my co-workers. L, for instance, understands my love of nailpolish. I think she and
luxken27 would hit it off spectacularly on this level. ;)
It's that time of year when Walgreens starts resetting shelves and I gather Cos is either in the midst of a subtle reset or about to start one, so there's a lot of stuff going on clearance. The clearance endcaps are overflowing with goodness. For instance, I found L'Oreal's Miss Candy lipglosses (Short Shorts and Orange Creamsicle) for $2 and L'Oreal has coupons at the Walgreens for a $1 off a L'Oreal cosmetics item sooooo... with my discount it was about 85 cents each. Plus it was a buy one get one half off and the register kept trying to make that happen when we adjusted the price so.... Considering these suckers originally retailed for 8.99? SCORE.
Anyway, L was snagging a few nail polishes because one can never have enough and she had me ring her up because I don't judge the fact that she's probably got a gazillion and a half but she doesn't have this exact color and thus she needs it. Because I get it. I truly do. As someone who probably bought five subtly different shades of Ocean Blue-Green over the course of a couple of years, I get it. I love seeing what L's done with her nails on any given week and I feel bad that I haven't been painting mine since about my birthday because we'd usually have a squeefest on Thursdays about each other's nails. All in all, I think she bought what would have originally been about $70 worth of cosmetics for under $10.
I probably would have partaken more in the festivities but I didn't get a huge chance to run back and check the stuff, but I did buy those two glosses because I forgot my Cake Batter Chapstick at home. (it is my absolute favorite Chapstick ever and I hope they make it again.) If you decide to partake in the clearance, make sure to check that the prices ring up. Our store is notorious for the clearance stuff not ringing up properly.
Saturday, S and I were discussing Widget going back to school. She mentioned she'd gone to his middle school when it was in the transition stage between High School and what it is now, and I mentioned that I went there for high school. She looked at me funny and then asked how old I was because that simply wasn't possible. She shrieked when I told her the answer (32) and would not believe it. :D She then took a poll over the course of the next hour and I felt all warm and fuzzy each time people lowballed it.
Annnnnd the oven, which died a second time, is not immediately fixable. :/
