What to do, what to do
Aug. 30th, 2013 03:29 pmHey you. You there. Yeah, you. You've got an opinion on stuff, right? Excellent. Work is having a 25% off day, so I bit the bullet and bought two large picture frames for two of my three Sailormoon posters. (Prints? I dunno. They're fancier than your average poster.) Two of them are still in their shrink wrap although that has torn in places so it's not like I'd be violating the integrity of the collectible or some such nonsense.
Until I opened the cardboard sleeve protecting them, I hadn't remembered that all three weren't still in their original packaging and had decided on the two I wanted to display. Naturally the one not chosen wasn't in its packaging which meant it has to at least share a frame even if I choose not to display it, assuming the frame can handle that much awesome.
I'm not going to say which of the three that is. Instead, let's look at the options.
( Because I care, I shall cut. )
So which two would you choose? Standard white-ish walls (I think it's technically a really light gray) and the furniture is mostly black/white, but I'm not all that fussed about such things.
In case you wondered what other things will wind up on my walls, I'm not sure beyond these two (and the chosen two SM prints) but these are non-negotiable:

My Charmed/Angel poster from their shortlived double billing on Sundays, also known as "Worship Sundays."

And SW era Tori.
Elsewhere, assuming we manage to tackle the boxes down to a managable thing and not get in trouble, I am going to have a solid week where NO ONE is allowed to come over or talk about coming over. Nothing. Nada. No one allowed.
Today, you see, is the third day of me being awake too friggin' early. Our oven has had issues for the last, what, two or three weeks? It died the 16th or something and the repair guy fixed it the 19th. Then it died again the 23rd or so, but could not be properly brought back to life on the 26th. They came and put in a different one (not new, but newer than 1984's model) Wednesday but there was something that went wrong with the handle so they had to glue it and... that didn't work. Yesterday it popped out in my hand, and he was supposed to be here today at noon to fix it.
He's a nice guy and I don't really mind people running late. Heaven knows I do when I'm not running early. But I work overnights. Noon for me is like, 1am for "normal" people. So calling me an hour into my wait to tell me it's going to be another two hours before I get the call that says you're half an hour away is kind of vexing. All this to fix something I didn't break and to replace a light bulb that should have been replaced about a month ago. I should have stuck to my original plan to sleep through this visit because now I am very cranky. He's been late the last three days and now the boy is talking about having people over to "help" clean on Sunday. But either he means at 7am (no. Fuck no.) or 7pm (why bother?) and I am just so tired of having to deal with people. It takes a lot out of me to deal with people I don't choose to deal with (friends are different) and it's been an almost non-stop thing for the last month. I'm tired of it. It's exhausting. It's bad enough having to be "on" at work, I don't like having to be "on" at home, too.
The only upside of this is that Sunday they'll be coming for the books we're giving away.
