I need to write this down lest I forget my plan. I've been trying to think of what to do for Widget's Advent Calendar this year and thus far nothing spoke to me. Or the things that did would be pretty expensive before I even bought anything to put in said calendar.
And then I saw a huge lot of plastic fill 'em up ornaments on Oriental Trading Company. Sadly, as I was checking out (literally, I pressed the final button to buy it) they said "nope, sold out". So... to ebay I went and found half as many for the same price after shipping. :( It wouldn't bug me if the shipping had been combined but nooooo.
Anyway, I figure I'll spray paint the ornaments into prettiness, then fill them with candy and small stuff (or slips of paper to be redeemed for stuff that won't fit into the ornament) and hang them up somewhere. And this way, if this works half as well in reality as it does in my head? I don't have to flippin' worry about it next year. :P
Tomorrow my box from B&BW will be here. I'm curious as to whether I will like any of the seasonal shower gels I grabbed but if I don't, guess what Santa will be giving out for Christmas? :P
Oh, and now for a tale of corporate goodness. Last year I bought a pretty purple Oster toaster from Target. The damn thing was $30 but it's a purple toaster, y'know? So it's been perfectly lovely until two weeks ago when it stopped working. Well, the lever to hold the toast down stopped working. And naturally I couldn't find my receipt nor could I find any proof of buying it aside from a squee on Facebook. So I emailed the company and they eventually (it took a week) emailed me back and said they'd send me a new one, no charge, so awesome. So sometime this week or next I'll get a new toaster. :D
Coming up this weekend (or tomorrow, whatever) I'll be putting out a call for Holiday Cards. I like sending them, I love receiving them, it will happen. You've been warned. Also, wish lists, people! I'm working on mine and it'll likely go up in a bit.
