Is this thing on
Oct. 11th, 2016 12:53 pm*knocks on wood* I think we're back up and running. If I'd known the secret to getting my power back on was to buy a battery powered alarm clock and some ice, dude, I would've done that before the storm. :P
But yeah, yesterday afternoon, after I'd braved my brother's apartment (and Target and Mom braved Bi-Lo) and after I cleaned off my balcony (branches and leaves everywhere) and just when the cat and I were kind of comfy with the door cracked enough to let the cooler air in, the power flicks back on. I wait and say nothing because I'm not sure if it'll stay but maybe thirty seconds later Mom hollers that the power's back. Huzzah!
Internet/cable/phone didn't come back til this morning around 11, but it was so nice to not have to use flashlights to stumble from one room to another.
On the plus side, the autumn weather I wanted finally arrived. Which I'm extra thankful for considering we didn't have power for three days and it would have been horrible if we'd had anything remotely hot.
The backyard is still kind of swampy with a thick covering of leaves and branches.
Gonna catch up on a little of what I've missed and then get ready for bed since I do have to work.
