Christmas roundup
Dec. 27th, 2016 12:56 pm*snort* Oh, internet. You amuse me, you do. I dunno if any of you remember/still do the Dragon cave thing, but for Christmas they do a thing and it varies from year to year. This year, like last year, they're doing a little video game and like last year, people aren't exactly thrilled because it's glitch-tastic. I've played quite a few similar games in my day and holy cow, is this thing slow.
Anyway, today I log on and see that everything I did yesterday is showing up as to be done again. WTF. I didn't super enjoy it yesterday, I really don't want to do it again, but the glitches are legendary so I guess...
Yeah. Turns out that it's one of those things where you do them every day, or not. But since the game doesn't have an official walkthrough kind of deal, you get a lot of confused people. Which means I don't want to hear someone shrieking, "guys, these people worked hard on this for us and don't complain! Especially about having to re-do tasks because that's a feature, not a glitch!"
Sweetheart. Love. Honey. Child. If everyone is having the exact same freakout, it's not a good thing. It's usually a sign you done fucked up.
^--- From yesterday, but the sentiment still stands.
Anyway, is it time for gift round up? I think it is!
From the ever lovely
luxken27 we have Creepateria Cleo. ♥
Widget gifted me with super basic (do these have an actual name?) Fearleading Frankie. ♥
From the boy: a bag of Twisted Peppermint goodies from B&BW. :D
From the boy's new gf: Apple Cider candle from Yankee. <3
From the boy's new gf and her son: super soft slipper socks.
From Mums: a Bailey's gift set (yay, glasses!), Kahlua Especial, and the Wet n Wild brush set from work.
From K at work: a super cute cat mug and mini mousepad.
Not sure if I still have gift monies from my uncle and if so whether it's enough to put towards Gabriela or not, but we'll see. (Sometimes Mums picks out the gifts, sometimes she gives us the money.)
All in all, I'm pretty happy. I could probably have done without the new gf sending us home with a billion books because she's a big reader too (which is nice) but she's downsizing her books and I'm looking around her house like "but... I don't see any books down here" but if I wanted to scar you lot for life and just took pictures RIGHT NOW of our living room, you'd see five overstuffed bookcases and books just chillin' wherever. And the only reason it's just five bookcases is that there's no room for more and most of them aren't small either. :P Seriously, there's no room at the inn.
I did fairly well in only snagging a few to be polite, that looked sorta maybe interesting and then the second wave hit and it was a lot of Anne Rice annnnnd not from her weird God fanfic period either. So um... yeah. And Mom went a bit nutter butters.
The moves kind of killed my ability to willingly go nuts over lots of books coming home. Boxes of books are heavy and never ending around here.
With that said, she seems nice and I hope for good things for them. Her kid's adorable and it was nice to see him and Widget getting along for the most part. I do think my brother's a bit of a doof since earlier in the month he called and said that the house was getting an XBox Whatever, I dunno, so Widget would be able to come over and game and not complain. Yeah, the house did not get one, the kid who lives there got one. As in that was his big gift. Luckily for all involved, there was a bit of a mixup in the order of the gifts, so the kid opens a game for the system first and Widget helpfully tells the kid that it's a really cool game and to hold onto it until he can get a XBoxwhatever and then, of course, out comes the XboxWhatever. Which they tried to set up but couldn't because of technical issues. Still, they got along a lot better than I was expecting.
I am dying at the amount of shit my brother gave our cousin for marrying a girl who shares an unusual nickname with our cousin Z... and now my brother is dating someone who shares a name with Z's sister. So, y'know, also a cousin name and most of our family has sorta unusual names. I think only the four oldest have really common names and then from yours truly on down we have kinda weird names or nicknames.
To be fair to him, however, Z's nickname is still super unusual and I only know the two of them who use it though I'm sure there must be others.
Now, I need to find some food and then curl up in a ball because cramps suck. Tomorrow or Thursday (maybe Thursday because maybe the stuff will be online then, or will they wait til the first?) we'll discuss the new AG Mix n Match things. If you're near a store, there are some good sales going on but I'm not so I'm sitting here sulking. Oh, and Gabriela's book is out today, I think. Kindle preview is up and I'm thisclose to clicking buy.
