Where does the time go
Feb. 22nd, 2017 12:50 pmHow in the hell is it 12:30 already? Ugh. I hate my short days (when I get off late and have to turn right around and go in 'early') but there's not much I can do, I guess. At least I've been pretty productive since I got home. Sorting out bills and printing proof of insurance and all that jazz. Much adulting. Woo.
On the plus side, I'm only four days away from mini vacation time.
Let's see what little things I can play catch up on while I wait for the allergy meds to kick in.
TV wise, I watched Big Little Lies, episode 1 the other day. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but I will say that it's intriguing. I'm looking forward to the rest and the first episode was shot beautifully, and that's not normally something I notice.
I don't think I could have two more different new shows for the year but here we are. Riverdale's still more fun than I thought it would be, but it is definitely a crack show. I haven't the time to find all the words right now.
My Sephora Play! box arrived over the weekend and Monday I tried the Too Faced Lip Injection gloss thing. Look. I remember when lip plumping things were a big deal, what, like ten years ago? More? I dunno, there was a time when it was a thing and I swear they were everywhere. And they hurt, man. And then products came out that didn't hurt and the craze died. Or so I thought. I tried a fair amount of those back in the day and I don't recall any of them being too terrible. I can't recall many that actually, y'know, did much, but it's been awhile so my memory of that might be hazier than my recollection of pain. I think I had a Buxom one that felt kinda tingly weird, but it wasn't unpleasant and I liked the color so I kept using it.
Yeah. That little sample? Was like a freakin' chemical burn on my lips. I vaguely remembered that people had mentioned somewhere at some time that this was one of those kinda painful ones but no. This was like instantly chapping your lips or burning them. And I tried to tough it out because I didn't know if there was some time limit on how long it was supposed to hurt and then bam, it worked. But no. No. Slightly intense tingle? No, Too Faced. This is like fucking fire. I have legitimately burned myself before and it hurt less. (To be fair, the burns did last longer.)
So that was a not so happy surprise. And to think, I was super happy when I saw it in the little bag. Btw, am I the only one who has the drawstring/ribbons pull out and thus render the bag completely useless anytime they make the bag fancier? Any of the bags I'd actually use again later (this month's and December's come to mind) and the freakin' ribbons go all weird. :(
Gonna go serve myself some icecream, assuming Widget hasn't swiped it all, and finish my book.
