As we might've discussed earlier, when the CYO AG line launched, all the Jess molds were on backorder. Serious backorder that kept getting pushed back. The first dolls have started arriving and the very first one I saw was a stunner. The kind that makes you wish you had money to burn because these aren't cheap.
The second, however, made me step back and wonder but why.
Jess mold. Light skin. Brown eyes. (Regular, not even weird Tenney eyes.) Shoulder length black hair with bangs.
Who, oh who, does that sound like? Congrats, you just spent $200+ to make Ivy with a thinner wig. I don't understand. The only real differences are the shading on Ivy's eyes and the CYO wig has thinner bangs. Also, she looks cross-eyed as hell but that might be due to the fact that in the year 2017, people are still posting pictures on the internet sideways and not fixing that ASAP. In any case, I'd have saved the extra money and hopped on over to ebay to score a lovely Ivy and done without the weird Matilda wig entirely. (In case it's not clear, I don't like that particular wig, at least not in this case. Possibly not in any case as it looks thin and if I'm spending $200 on a doll, her hair had better be fuller than mine unless it's a friggin' pixie cut.)
Hell. Even if you picked up an Ivy that needed work, you'd still come out ahead if you just sent her on to the doll hospital. This is almost as bad as the person who made their version of, what was it, #37? This is worse because this person sat through a backorder of forever and a day when they didn't need to. I. Don't. Under.Stand.
People. PEOPLE. If you wish to throw money away on a doll, let me do the hard work!
So. Two more things.
1) Should we peruse the internet and discuss the various CYO dolls out there, or should I let you do that alone at your leisure?
2) It's holiday time which means dressing up the army in their finery. Any requests/suggestions on who should wear what? I... have somehow wound up with a lot of dolls. I'd feel bad about this only I don't so eh. And since holiday finery is one of my weaknesses (like PJs), I have collected quite a few. So under the cuts we'll list the doll army and the finery options. Let's make a good looking crew look bootiful, shall we?
( The dolls. )
( The finery options. )
And if you made it through all that, you're a freakin' champ. It's my stuff and I blacked out halfway through. :P
Clearly I have a problem. Also, the black sparkle dress is on it's way here but isn't here yet.
