Happy New Year! Later I might get off my duff and post something more personal (oh, self, stop, it's too early in the year for funny) but for now, let's peruse AG's goodies for the year. Are you ready? I'm not sure I am; there's a lot going on here.

We begin with Luciana Vega, the Girl of the Year for 2018.
A little complaining out of the way first. )

Luciana! )

Here I was, back in the fall, ready to say this would be another collection where I wanted the doll but not the collection and I was so very, very wrong. I think this is the first in awhile where I've wanted both. I think Grace was the last where I bought a good chunk of the actual collection (big pieces aside) as well as the doll. *thinks* She might also have been the first. Luci, I guess, is going to be the second since most of this is a bunch of "I waaaaaaaant" repeated over and over.

For those who like reality to intersect with their doll worlds, Luci has a lot in common with Alyssa Carson.

If you're feeling lucky, there are 20% off coupons floating around on catalogs again. AG. Love. We gotta talk about your terrible ideas. We really, really do. You want to improve sales? Maybe don't make it obvious in this day and age that you're so busy courting 'new' customers with sales that your best offer for regular, repeat, spend far too much customers is the right to buy a $75 outfit. Free shipping. That 20% off coupon. Something. Anything decent. Also, your die-hards have proven (look at your sales, they suck) that if they know someone else is getting a better deal (hello, 20% off), they will not buy. For a lot of them, this has turned into they will not buy at all. This is kinda the opposite of what you want.

Ho hum

Still so many AG things to catch up on, but it's cold and I'm hungry and also I don't want to do it yet. So I shall not.

I don't normally do resolutions, but this year I think I'm going with use up more of the crap I've got around the house. And I say crap lovingly, really. I've got a million Scentsy bars. I don't need a million of them, so let's use 'em up. Ditto for some of my five billion lip balms. Gonna go through the stack o' magazines I've managed to accumulate in the last few months and get rid of them. Stuff like that.

As far as I can tell, it did not snow last night though I did check a billion times throughout the night. Mom and I watched Captain America: Civil War because she's been trying to watch that for ages but couldn't tell who everyone was. That's why I'm here. Obviously.

The new TV is pretty awesome but I could do without whatever setting it has that makes everything look like it's filmed like a soap opera. I thought I'd toggled that off but apparently not. It was very distracting for the first hour of the movie.

I'll admit I'm a little bummed that the first NYE I've had off in years wasn't more of a thing, but absolutely no one got back to me. No one. Rude. Still, I enjoyed how I spent the evening so there's that. Mostly.

Apparently, and I wouldn't know this because I've worked NYE since we moved out of the house, and that was four/five years ago, our neighbors are idiots. The ones across the parking lot set off fireworks over our side of the parking lot. Widget opened his window and found pieces of one there. Funny how that pissed him off, but the idiots pointing said fireworks at him and Mom as they got out of the car did not. I thought I was going to have to either call the cops or channel my inner bitch because what kind of fuckwit doesn't realize that hey, you don't aim fireworks at someone else or their house... but then I watched another set of idiots nearly blow up a car and I realized that the people of James Island are smarter than the people around here.

There are so many things wrong with that one statement that I feel the need to hide under a blanket until I forget I even thought it, let alone said it.

Spent this afternoon re-reading Return of the Evil Twin and it is still as fantastically bad as always. I will never not crack up at Nora's sad lament that there is no New Hampshire and I will also never stop wishing for an AU where Margo, Nora, or the pair combined succeeded in taking out a Wakefield twin. Maybe this will be the year I actually write that.

Or not.

I should probably rinse out the various recyclables and take them out before the sun completely disappears. Must... not be lazy.

I'll be updating this as I go along, I think. We'll leave Luci's post as is and make this the catch-all for the other things. Probably.

We're starting with Tenney's new stuff because it's the least amount, I think, and pretty self-contained. For whatever reason, AG decided to go and make mix-n-match stuff for Tenney but it's a very odd assortment.

Onward, y'all. )

In general, I'm not a huge fan of this. I think there were some good/interesting ideas but the execution fell a little flat in places for me. Dress, I mean you. I suppose this kind of fits in with Tenney's stuff in general. There's a lot of stuff I kind of like, but very little I must, must have.

eta: new Truly Me stuff
New Truly Me stuff for boys and girls. And Wellie stuff, too. )

TM Mix n Match, a little more beachy. )

Truly Me Boys and misc TM stuff )

Wellie Wishers. )

I think this concludes the new release. I don't think Bitty Baby got anything new and if I missed anything, I'm sorry. Mostly it's a release that either did nothing for me (most of the Wellie stuff) or made me want to throw my wallet at the company (Luciana's stuff).
