Stuff, I suppose

First order of business: World is Your Oyster (Essie polish) is a hit. I'm not sure if the compliments on my nails are because they're pretty long (but not too long) or the color or the combo of both, but I'm betting it's the color because many a compliment have I received. I do have to redo my index finger and my pinky on the other hand but the right hand has no top coat (hence all the chippage) as I like to test these things out.
I will say I'm not sure what happened with the top coat though. I originally put it (the Insta Dri) over my pretty purple Zoya polish and it was fine. Or so I thought, as when I finished my icecream, I noticed my tips were all frosted. o_O I tried another coat to see if maybe the cold had done something odd (I dunno, I was tired) and it went on glossy and beautiful and again turned frosty. It looked crummy on that color, so I stripped the polish (g'ah, remover) and tried again with my Essie. And it did the same thing, only quicker. Luckily it looked better so I figured the hell with it, I'll leave it as is and finished watching Murder, She Wrote. By the end of the mini marathon, the tips were back to normal.

Next order of business, I wish this dude at work would stop coming by or just stop hitting on me. He doesn't do it all the time and I think I've mentioned him before, but when he does, he always manages to pick the time when no one's around and it's just... dude. Do you enjoy being shot down? Do you think I owe you a reason why I won't give you my number or flirt back? Because I don't. But if I did feel like trotting out reasons beyond, "Thank you, but I'm uninterested," I would probably lead with the fact that you've got a girl and I don't think any one is worth that kind of trouble. You wanna cheat, find someone else. If she's not your SO, maybe don't use her number for when you check out so her name comes up. I'd think maybe it was another family member only he's come in with her before (she put in the number that time and I double checked the name) and I know this is the south, but no.

Also, maybe don't hit on me while intoxicated. Seriously. Standards, I have them. But I don't owe you an explanation. And normally this wouldn't be a thing that would bother me for more than the time the idiot was in store, but lately I've noticed that almost anyone hitting on me has definitely got a girlfriend/wife/whatever. Dude, I may be fat and not super pretty but for fuck's sake, I'm not desperate.


BBW's SAS started online over the weekend and I made an order. Wasn't sure I was going to, but I found about $40 worth of stuff I wanted enough to try for, so I went for it. I think they cancelled the hand soap I was most interested in but I'm not sure because my "sorry, an item has been cancelled/sold out/whatever!" email did not actually include which item was dropped. When I check my order, all the items are still showing up for now, but who knows what will actually happen.

Mom's second wave of birthday goodies appeared and it looks like they sent two of one item. I double checked my invoice and it only lists one so I dunno. It was on clearance, and marked waaaaaaaaaay down so they were pretty desperate to get rid of it, but I don't know if sending two is really the best way to do it. :P

SV Day 4

4. Favorite Book:

   Do I have a favorite? *muse* I re-read The Evil Twin every year but I'm not sure I'd call it my favorite. For SVH, I'm probably going to go with Dear Sister because I did read it pretty early in my SVH run and it's a purple cover and it's pretty much a classic SVH book. You've got your farfetched coma, your twin bond that overcomes medicine and science (sorta, I mean you do talk to coma patients, but we all know it was the power of Jess that pulled Liz through), your twin personality switch... there's so much in such a small book.




   For SVT, it's a toss up between The Magic Christmas which is a fantasy epic that I'm kind of sad they never revisited and kind of glad at the same time because this way the magic remains intact, and The Carnival Ghost which is one of those books I remember reading for the first time and loving. I also remember putting the book on my windowsill and going downstairs to get a snack or something and all day it'd been overcast and the skies opened up and of course my window was open and yeah, the book was ruined but I could not wait to buy another copy (or hit the library), so I broke out the hair dryer so I could finish it. And I cried because my copy was beyond ruined, btw. But the story itself is deliciously creepy and it's one that sucked me in and I loved it. SO MUCH.
