Sep. 10th, 2018 02:10 amFair warning, I have a period induced headache that was probably complicated by the sleeping all day and lack of caffeine so my brain is a little scrambled.
Anyway, hurricane update of sorts: Florence continues to move slower than a dead snail in molasses in the dead of winter, but for the past 24 hours or so, her track has been pretty consistent so it's looking like Wilmington is fucked.
I've yet to really get a sense of how big she is, so I don't know what we'll be getting fringe wise, but if one believes Live 5, it's looking like so long as you stay out of the water (both at the beach and when downtown inevitably floods) we could be dealing with either flooding and rain or not much at all. That's... helpful? I'm relieved for us that we look to be dodging another hurricane, particularly one who is slated to ramp up to a Cat 4 before landfall, but pretty sure Dad's side of the family is decidedly in danger zone.
Still, yesterday when I left work, Mums and I bought two cases of water and batteries for the flashlights my brother bought us two years ago for that storm. Told myself I had to do so at the first hurricane scare of the season and welp, that's now. I was good and didn't turn right around and buy stuff with my points at work though I wanted to. Gotta wait and see if the storm is going to really do anything to us before I commit to things.
Mom and I finally got around to watching Black Panther now that it's on Netflix and Cass was right; T'Challa got sidelined in his own damn movie. But considering he stole a good chunk of Civil War, I suppose that's only fair. I think I'd have enjoyed it more on the big screen and without the headache, but I'm not 100% sure about that considering my issue with the first half of the movie was how it was filmed. There are a lot of camera shots that I guess are sweeping but seem to circle and I get dizzy pretty easily and it triggered the hell out of that. So maybe seeing that on the big screen would have been worse. Or maybe on a big screen I wouldn't have noticed? I enjoyed it and will likely watch it again sometime soon. I do have a long list of things I want to see though, so it might be a bit before I circle back. But Marvel? You gimme a Women of Wakanda movie and I'll take time off from work to watch it opening weekend.
Let's see. Work. Friday I went in and was gifted the joy of the cig reset. Which in the past hasn't been horrible but it's always a lengthy process because you have to move so many things. Yeah, it was horrible this time because just about everything moved after the first item. Hell, for all I know I was supposed to move shelves or something but I didn't because I had to stay late just to mostly finish what I did. Turns out I could either make the store look pretty and do all the other things on my list or vacuum and do the cig reset. I tried to do everything and yeah, no. Ran out of time. And I couldn't just concentrate on the reset because our DM was supposedly stopping by but since literally none of the other things you do when a DM comes in were done, I'm going to assume he didn't actually show. Or maybe he did and things will blow up this week. *shrugs* I did my thing, I tried to keep it from being a horrible mess after I left, and when I came back and no one had done the really easy thing I left, I did that. Then I tried to put up the signs without having any clue as to where they actually belonged and without the holders because no one gave them to me and also, Saturdays I have other things to do.
tl;dr version? Cig reset from hell nearly killed me. Everything moved. I joked about them finding me on the floor crying but it nearly happened.
I should go clean my room for Comcast's possible arrival this week but I'm feeling lazy. But it would be a good way to kill time til I need to dose Widget. Hrmm.
