ow, my head
Mar. 25th, 2019 01:39 amIt appears my streak continues. If a dish or glass breaks in the house, it doesn't matter how well the clean-up is done, my feet will find the one piece left over. Ow.
It also appears that I am in a funk. But it's hard to properly describe because it's not one of those where you feel depressed or anything obvious. It's just that I'm tired and can't work up the energy to be all fizz and sparkles about things I should be excited about. So while the day to day stuff doesn't really suffer too much, anytime I go much more beyond that I'm hit by a wall of Bleh and I'd like for that not to be the case. Part of it is possibly the fact that spring brings allergies and between the fog caused by them or the 'cure' of a Benadryl coma, it's hard to work up much excitement about anything that involves leaving the house.
But I'm finding it hard to work up the desire to, y'know, fire up Hulu and watch the show Cass has been bugging me to watch since I pointed out it was coming out at all. And I was interested in it so it's not like it's simply "meh, not my thing anyway."
I'm not really sure how to rid myself of said funk/fog either. :/ I tried venturing out into the world last week with Captain Marvel and while I love the movie and would happily see it again, it didn't kickstart the end of this. Plus side, we did learn that Mom likes Captain D's lobster rolls and that I am not really a fan.
Tried watching Psych, which usually helps but this time it's only for as long as the episode is on.
*shrug* Just gotta ride it out, I guess.
In slightly happier news, I tried out two of my KL polishes. First up was Yzma, which wears as a pretty dark purple in most light, but when in direct sunlight it turns a pretty metallic purple of perfection. I was going to try and take a picture of this, but I never managed to get off my ass when the sun was out and as of right now only my pinkie and ring finger on my left hand are left. I will say that I got about a week out of it on my left hand and four days on my right hand. Which is better than average, actually. I never remember to wrap the tips on my right hand because usually those nails are much shorter and it's my dominate hand so the paint job sucks to begin with. Left hand usually starts to chip on truck night (Wednesday) and this one didn't at all. Yzma did rack up a compliment on it at work, too.
Saturday I finally caved and ordered Blaire from a PS at AG:Chicago so they could send her directly to the doll hospital to get her eyes swapped. While waiting for the PS to call me back to give her the payment info, I cracked into my second KL polish order which was the 2018 Havana Heat summer collection. Because I wanted Matanzas, which is the shimmery metallic blue of my dreams.
No. I did not buy the set just for the blue. I made myself look at other swatches/reviews of the other colors to see if I'd even try the majority of them and I decided that 4/6 were on the yes list and I could try the other two as it's not like I have a lot of oranges or yellows running around.
It's GLORIOUS. Saturday I had someone stop me and touch the nails as she admired the pretty. It glows, dammit. Once I figure out what I'm watching, I'll be painting the three non-Yzma nails with it and then dazzle myself into oblivion when the sun comes up.
Sometime this week Blaire's stuff should arrive and I'm hoping it won't take too long for her to come back from the hospital.
Was going to book babble but my headache just came back so I'll see you later.
