Oh hell no, doll world
May. 8th, 2019 06:38 pmOh, hell no. You don't bring up the sacred name of My Scene (Barbie) and then act like it was not amazing for what it was, at least initially. Just because it isn't AG doesn't mean you get to act like it was a failure. Especially not while AG is plunging headlong into oblivion at an alarming rate.
It is taking all of my maturity to not respond to "wasn't that Mattel's version of Bratz that failed spectacularly" with "No, the spectacular failure was the Bratz 'comeback'." Mostly because it would go over everyone's head and I still love a lot of things Bratz chose to do, even if I loved MyScene more. But mostly because I want my original comment listing off the good things that AG could use from the line (in general, obviously) to stand.
All of this comes by way of AG hiring another new head who I gather was part of bringing MyScene to the world.
But fabulous fashions, nifty accessories (I still love you, Target shopping basket), engaging storyline if that's your thing, and the ability to spark interest in people who were aging out of dolls? Those are things AG needs desperately at this point. Suck it, conservative pearl-clutchers.
