movie time with Cass
Jun. 3rd, 2019 02:07 pmLast fall, Cass calls me at work and goes on about some Chris Hemsworth movie she's just seen and how, eventually I MUST see it. And I agree because at the time it sounds vaguely interesting, what with a hotel with a California side and a Nevada side and bad shit happens and y'know, why not.
About a week ago she's all, "Bad Times at the El Royale is gonna be on HBO June 1! You have to watch!" And basically counting down. She's also been hounding me for months to watch another movie that I'm kinda not into, so I figured I'd give the Hemsworth one a whirl.

So if you've been spammed with a billion posts on Tumblr, that's why.
I will say that dancing aside, I... don't get the people who are all over his character. Like he's meant to be a pretty Charles Manson. Hell, even the scene in the gif is tempered by the scene pretty hardcore. There's really only one scene he's in that isn't completely skin crawling and it's still not...not skin crawling.
But I've gotta say, I went in expecting to be at best meh about the whole thing and now I'm debating buying the damn thing. Joke's on me, I suppose.
