The MCM sale is this weekend and if you have no idea what that is, fear not. It's AG Benefit Sale, run by the Madison Children's Museum, and I swear, people spend far more money to get there than they save just to shop til they drop. I've never been and honestly, I'm not sure I'd really want to unless hell froze and I happened to be out that way in the dead of summer. Think Black Friday, but concentrated on just AG. Not to be confused with AG's version of Black Friday as that's not really a thing.

Anyway, I only mention this because today they put up the gallery of CYO dolls they'll have available this year. I love that as I spent eons going through and saving all the pictures before they get deleted/edited as the dolls sell, I'm thinking there are a freakin' lot of brunettes and thus dolls in general (I made the mistake of starting with them)... and there are a lot of dolls I totally get why they were sent back. A good chunk of the Jess molds have the downward gaze and a fair amount of all the dolls have the startled-buggy eyes. Some combos probably seemed good in theory but looked off to the person who ordered the doll, and for $200+ you want to be in love. There are also a few cross-eyed dolls that should've had an extra minute or four spent with them to fix their eyes originally.

Everyone else though, is shrieking at how few dolls there are (fair enough when you consider how many people track through this sale) and how lovely they all are. ...uh, ok.

After having spent a couple of hours saving alllllllll the pictures (why, oh why, did we go with photobucket?) I have several observations maybe.

1) There are a lot of Josefina molds. Not sure if this means people kept swapping them out because of wonk and the mold is really popular inthe CYO line or what, but there's a lot. 97, to be exact, assuming I didn't miss anyone.
2) There are only 4 Addy molds. This I imagine is due to the mold hiding the wonk better than any other mold and also not having nearly as many ordered in general. Just guessing, though.
3) When Classic mold goes wonky, it goes really, really wonky. o_O
4) With how often the classic is used by AG, it's really easy to make a really expensive version of an already existing doll. :P

There are a tooooooooooooooon of the purple sweatshirt outfits being returned. A sea of them. Despite it being a better outfit than the stupid donut dress, at least I only had to look at that dress a handful of times while I had to sit through a freakin' hour of the other.

Honestly, it was fascinating to look through the gallery because I'm ever so curious as to what people actually buy as well as what they return. If AG had any sense in their heads, assuming they want to continue the CYO line, they'd create a gallery on the site where people could look through already made combos. I know they've been amping up the use of the dolls in their layouts but still. If they refuse to make the creator better, at least give people a gallery to peruse to help them better visualize their results.

Btw, still no movement on my doll. You suck, AG.
