In which I am all over the place
Aug. 12th, 2019 02:47 pmI'm pretty proud of myself. My summer resolution to keep up with my SVH recaps is actually going pretty well, and I don't think all of that can be blamed on the graphic novel coming out. Of course I probably just jinxed myself, huh?
On the flipside, I am woefully behind on most of my TV watching. Haven't watched Descendants 3 yet, mostly because it came out just after I had to go back to work and also because even if it's beyond terrible (and all reports say otherwise) I will cry.
Lesse. Other things.
So. I believe I mentioned that my electric company did a stupid thing and was bought out by another electric company when the corruption was exposed. I'm pretty sure Dominion is just as evil, but whatever. Part of the neverending parade of lawsuits against SCE&G resulted in them sending out settlement checks. But some of these are literally more expensive to mail. I've seen checks for .02 or .50 and people are pissed.
I didn't think too much of the fact that the people who lived here before we did got a check sent here, as she moved out of state at the time. Dunno where she is now. But Cass mentioned that the people who lived at her place previously also got one sent to her place and she's been there for awhile... and I'm betting her person is still local. So are they just sending checks to each place you were billed or what? Because if the check we got doesn't include the house that absolutely ate electricity, I want that check.
I am tired of summer but since I live in Satan's armpit, I have to deal with it for the next *checks calendar* forever. I wanted to go Halloween hunting (specifically for Halloween drinkware and that cat I never found last year) but a) Mums doesn't feel great and b) we're back to "feels like" temperatures. And while it's not quite as bad as last week, it's still not something I'd want to deal with even if just for the time it took me to run to and from the car.
In other news, I learned that the idiots who decided to organize a pool group have been getting food trucks to come by weekly. So they can eat at the pool. These are the same assholes who now have THREE garbage cans at the pool and still can't figure out how not to leave their trash by the fence or on the various tables. You expect me to trust you assholes with messy food by the pool? I think not. Also, I am super tired of reading the whining posts about how they don't have enough pre-orders to get the food truck to come. Well, maybe if you advertised at the mailboxes and not just on a closed group that just barely has enough members to qualify for your pre-order you wouldn't have this problem. Or maybe people just aren't interested in the food trucks. I dunno. It's always a Friday night and I get why, but I'm not hiking down to the pool on a Friday night before work for that.
Dear chicken enchilada thing Mums bought, please be yummy as this waiting for you to cook thing is not fun.
