state of the me, week whatever.
Mar. 23rd, 2020 12:49 pmI do so love waking up to a cough. To be fair, I didn't exactly wake up to that, it was more wake up, sit up, and then swallow funny and I've now spent the last however many hours paying for that mistake. Fun.
In other news, SC is up to 196 cases and Charleston is stalled at 13, but I suspect that's because you still basically have to have an obvious link to someone who is already confirmed to get tested, and those tests are taking a week to get results back. Which I know because Cass is waiting to find out if she came into contact with someone who is now showing all the signs but won't get their results back til Thursday... a week after contact. Possibly more than a week. I made the biggest rookie internet mistake and read the comments on some post on a FB group (why, self, why) about a guy and his wife ignoring all the protocols and skipping around James Island and infecting god knows how many people because the majority of the people they probably came into contact with are service/retail people who can't get tested anyway. Fuckers! And did I mention my brother lost his job? If not, he did. Thursday, I think. If not then, it was Friday. Not sure if the whole restaurant just went fuck it, we're done for now or if he was just deemed non-essential and I couldn't figure out a good way to ask.
To distract myself from thinking about idiots and the chaos out there, I've been alternating between watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine and nail polish videos on youtube. The former makes me laugh and the latter helps me turn my brain off and sleep. The downside of the polish stuff is that I find myself wanting different shiny colors. You have enough, self! (Never enough!)
Oh, and for my weekend project, I've thrown in working on the Caitlin Ryan series and SVT sections on LibraryThing. I've been scanning in covers as I go, but this will take awhile. I wish I knew why sometimes they scan in fine and sometimes you get those weird yellow/pink bands in a scan. If you know, let me know. Bonus points if you also know how to avoid it. It's annoying.
Got my Zoya order over the weekend. Realized that I was originally right when I thought I'd ordered 20 polishes. Alas, I doubled one of them, but Jem #2 has already been found a new home. Which she will go to once I figure out how to properly ship her. It will happen! Possibly even this century. :P
Ooh, new Dreamhouse Adventures episodes are on Netflix. And episode 2 is Halloween themed!
