impy: Sweet Valley Twins Jessica looking pissed in new glasses with the text 'someone is going to PAY for this.' (pay for this)
So my weekend was pretty unproductive and I'd only had a couple of things I wanted to do. I did manage to clean the cat box, woo, and I attempted to magic eraser the hallway walls but that didn't do what I wanted, so I'll have to actually scrape or... something. I'll maybe figure it out. However, my plans to catch up on Dead To Me and review my Team USA AG stuff? Yeah. They didn't work out due to Mother Nature hitting me with the period of "ugh" and also rain. The rain I could maybe have worked around, but not the period. Ugh. It did kind of explain the dizziness, though.

Also, Mom and I watched the last Highlander movie. The one that I vaguely remember telling Cass about years ago and then forgetting until earlier this year when I think she mentioned it again and then we both forgot, and then again when Mom kicked up her Highlander The Series re-watch. Literally forgot it in the two days between looking something up and seeing that it was, in fact, a thing, and Cass mentioning it during our marathon chat the weekend work was closed. I asked Mom if she'd seen the last Highlander movie and she said she didn't remember for sure, but she was considering watching it. I asked if she wanted to wait and we'd watch it together and she said sure. I told Cass, who then watched it and oh, the review she gave (and the ones she shared) was savage. Really, all she had to say was it was a glorified SciFi movie and I'd have realized what I was getting myself into. But I had committed to my mother, dammit!

Uh, yeah. In the quest to find it streaming, somewhere, I realized Mom thought we were talking about Endgame and I know she's seen that one because she owns it (it's how I figured out we were talking about two different movies) and also we saw it in theaters as I got the distinct JOY of sitting between my mother and Cass who both had very big crushes on Adrian Paul. Or maybe on Duncan MacLeod. I'm not sure, honestly. Possibly both because why limit oneself? It was an experience either way. So that one I know we've all seen. But Highlander: The Source? Nope.

For those who haven't figured it out yet, I like bad movies. They don't even all have to circle from bad to so bad it's good territory for me to like them. But uh, yeah, this movie is trash and there's a reason none of us remember it and I hope like hell my memory flushes it away ASAP. So. SO. SO BAD. I don't think anyone is watching the Highlander series (movie or TV) for realism but Jesus, when Cass kept going on about the green screen she was understating how glaringly bad it was. I'm not sure I agree with her assessment that you can tell the exact moment each actor gave up trying, but a case can be made for that theory. My favorite is Methos just getting up and walking away during *the* death scene. That basically sums up the entire movie. It kind of felt like when a studio realizes they're about to either lose the rights to a franchise or an actor and rushes to put something, anything out mixed with someone finding some really bad fanfic.

If you're going to hinge the entire movie on a romance, maybe actually flesh out the unknown character? A little? At all? Please? Especially if the entire movie is going to involve the characters we do know having to follow her around?

Finally, holy Queen blasphemy. NO. Just... full body cringe.
