ooh, shiny.
Jul. 27th, 2020 10:55 amHey. It's been a little bit, huh? Last week our AC decided to give up working during the heatwave we're currently going through and the first AC guy (was that last week? The week before?) fixed the bailing problem we've had for more than a year at this point. Yay! But almost immediately we realized that the cooling problem, what we'd mentioned this time, was still an issue... only now we had nothing we could do to fix it even temporarily. With the bailing, it'd get too hot and the drip pan would be full, we'd bail it out, and back down to cooler temps we'd be. Repeat as needed. Pain in the ass and definitely not normal, but y'know, cool air was eventually found.
Not after the fix. I finally had to break down and use my big ol' fan I either got from Dad or Donna years ago and they got an AC guy out here on Saturday. Mom said he was in and out in under 12 minutes. Compressor was borked, I think is what she said. I do know that I went from frying to cool where the fan was hitting me, to freezing and honestly wasn't sure whether it was because the AC was fixed or if the assholes who keep coming in with COVID symptoms (FUCKING STAY HOME OR, IF YOU HAVE TO GO OUT, CALL AHEAD AND HAVE US SHOP FOR YOU AND USE THE DRIVE-THRU, YOU DUMBFUCKS) had finally gotten me.
Speaking of work, I am fairly certain the thermometer at work doesn't work. I got to use it on a coworker and um, it gave me a smiley face for a temp that would have meant said coworker was super dead. o_O
In other news, my Luna doll should arrive today. Huzzah! My AG scrubs outfit shipped really early and should be here sometime this week, which should mean that next month I will wind up with a fairly large rewards certificate, thus ensuring that either Courtney won't be available in August at all or she'll be exempt from rewards. Who knows?
My Holo Taco order arrived last Thursday and I used the purple flakie already. It was fabulous over Zoya's Mimi and that reminds me:
pardon the shitty picture but I was waiting for Mom while she ran through the grocery store. This was last week's left hand on Wednesday morning, and I'd done my nails a little earlier than usual last week. Point is, I kept getting compliments on it from people. I eventually put the HT top coat on the ring finger, but the rest are Olive Ave Polish in Lyra for my thumb, Zoya's Mimi, and Pahlish in Seaside for the pinky. I did top that one with Holo Taco Flakie because the holo in the polish itself wasn't what I expected. Seaside was a holdout from my birthday week.
Thursday was also a shitty news day at the house, so that probably also didn't help with me going quiet. Not ready to talk about it yet, but hopeful thoughts for Mums that you can spare as you read this would be nice.
Now. I'm off to work on my pasta and maybe finish Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
Oh, and our oven crapped out last week, too. Yay.
