Annnnnnnnnnnnd it still doesn't feel like Christmas. WTF. I was even kind of looking forward, sort of, to working Christmas Eve as I've worked more of those than not as an adult and um... it wasn't as busy as usual. Like at all. I think I had busier nights over the summer. It was busy enough that I wanted to murder my coworker who called out on me and absolutely throttle whoever decided not to accept the other coworker's reason for not showing earlier in the week (I don't fucking care, it's Christmas and even a late person is better than no one) but not the line of people that never ends and you just zone out, or feel like the tallest elf around helping all the Santas in the area.
Nope. Just a bunch of people stopping by and saying, "thanks for working! But you're off tomorrow, right? You guys are closed, right?" NO. We're open, I'll be here, and fuck you for deciding you couldn't live without four boxes of candy that you spent 40 minutes picking out with your friends. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.
Sigh.
Do I take the instant gratification or do I hold out for one more night?
