The Midnight Club: TV edition, part 1
Oct. 11th, 2022 07:33 amFinished The Midnight Club like... two minutes ago. Not entirely sure how I feel about it, which is about par for the course for these things, I suppose. If one measures how good the show is by whether or not I cried like a baby, it falls on the good side of things. If one wants concrete answers to questions the show brought up that the book did not? Mmm, no.
But I will say two things while I let my brain process the rest.
1) If I catch even the tiniest rumor that anyone involved in the music selection for this show has ever, EVER, complained about a song not being period appropriate for a movie/book/tv series, I will fine them several thousand dollars. Because this goddamn show seemed to desperately want its 90's music from the latter half of the decade but didn't bother to set the show then.
2) It was worth almost everything to have that particular song played at the end of Dusty's/Kevin's story. And it was period appropriate so clearly it could be done.
I lied. One more thing. My inner younger self squeed something hardcore each time the title card popped up with that font and eeeeeeeeee!
