Nov. 8th, 2024 10:46 amOn some level I knew that after my week+ away, work would be... special upon my return, but I did not expect to walk in to the sales floor having numerous walls of totes all around the store. Like, Tuesday there were uboats and all the gray carts were filled with truck, and trying to move around the stockroom was difficult, though not impossible. I looked at the tags on the totes and saw some of them were from the truck we got two weeks ago! To be fair, I'm pretty sure those were the overstock totes from that truck but still.
Then Wednesday night I went in to the absolute WALL of totes down the first aisle, and realized very quickly there were sections like that all around the store, just not to that degree. My coworker for the night had called out, so I asked for totes I could actually do since I thought (ha, fool) originally that the totes on the cos aisles were for the cos sections that I couldn't reach. K brought me a gray cart with like, 10 things on it. I was a little confused but did what I could and asked for more. He said he couldn't get to anything and it wasn't until I went into the stockroom and realized OH SHIT, they didn't even take the totes down from the way they get brought in from the truck. You literally could not get past them to more than half the stockroom. Once I saw that, I realized it was pretty likely they just hauled all they could that was left over from last week's truck and put it on the salesfloor, which meant there was a chance that the stuff I'd seen earlier would include stuff I could do. And putting it half blocking the most stolen from aisle was as good an idea as any, really.
But holy shit, this truck will never, ever end. D: I'm honestly surprised they managed to get through so much yesterday since yet another truck (the food one) showed up. Then again, given the sheer number of times I've found things very confidently placed in the wrong place...
