Jul. 13th, 2025 11:28 amWhat the fuck, Target? A good chunk of their Halloween stuff hit the site today, even if a third or more isn't available yet (some have dates they'll hit the site, like 8/3 or 8/14) and some don't, but what I most look forward to, beyond the ~vibes~ is their Halloween village. It's literally my pinned post. I realized a couple of weeks ago that I never updated last year's offerings, but then I looked and realized that today should be release day, so I figured I'd wait and add them both at the same time.
Yeah, uh... Target totally dropped the line. Or not dropped, but changed significantly to the point that I'm not 100% sure they consider it a continuation or not. Previously it was wooden (lightweight but still) and plastic for the year they had two versions of a lot of the same items. I'd also like to take this moment to point out that the last two years I've had issues with my items arriving broken and I've either had to repair them myself or pray that I could find them in store, and usually could not because the damn line sells out so damn fast.
Why did I need to point that out? Because this year's offerings are fucking ceramic. And metal, but we'll get to that in a second. They're ceramic and I just don't understand what the actual fuck.

Compare that to last year's offerings:

The fuck am I supposed to meld these? I don't mean styles, because last year also brought us some painfully drab things like:

Which actually would work, depending on sizing, with most of the ceramic stuff this year. But the mixing of materials is wonky and I'm still willing to bet that if I go ahead and make my order, unless the gods truly smile, half the ceramic stuff is gonna wind up borked. :/
I was good on the rest of my Halloween hunting in preparation for the Target drop and now it's very much a sad trombone moment. Sigh. Rolled the dice and we'll see what pops up. Maybe later I'll update the post with last year's offerings. Still not sure if this year should be included.
Oh, and the metal houses if they're the same scale as the one I have from a few years ago don't really work with the Mini Mantle villages. No way in hell was I chancing ordering them at the same time as the ceramics though, as the year I bought my metal house (which is nifty and lives in my living room year round) they just chucked it in the box with nothing to keep it from scratching and impaling everything else in there.

Included the trees because I figure at least the single tree is meant to go with these.
