Mar. 14th, 2026 12:07 pmWill try to catch up with things this weekend, but until then, have some quick bits:
Feb's Friday the 13th was chill. March's was not. Work was slammed despite pharmacy being closed (pretty sure one of our 2 overnight pharmacists finally rage quit) because it was Friday, taxes have been rolling in so people have fun money, two of the colleges are on spring break, and oh yeah, it's the weekend before St. Patrick's Day.
There was a police chase that started at work, went up the highway I use to get to work (like, 30 minutes away, though probably 20-ish if you're leading a police chase), went all over the place apparently (fuck the news for not covering ANYTHING interesting local when I need to know shit), then came flying back by work with at least ten cops behind him (on my way to work when we first passed him, I lost count at 7), as he headed towards the beach. When I tell you this road dead ends in the ocean, I mean technically I think you'd hit the hotel first, but you get the idea. Then, maybe half an hour later if that, they come flying back by, possibly having picked up yet another cop on the way.
Hours later, when we called the cops on a shoplifter who finally pissed LP off bad enough to break their usual shoplifting stance, M asked about the earlier chase. Yeah, dude managed to get away since he was on a motorcycle and they couldn't do anything to stop him because at that speed he'd die.
The fuck you need ten damn cop cars following him for? I NEED a news story on this so I know what started this nonsense. But I cackled at him getting away.
(I will always be wary of cops responding to shit and speeding ever since Megan's death. It's just baked into my system now.)
Unrelated to work, but I find it funny that I've managed to win two books written by members of Hole in my time. I hope the new one is better than the last, but I have hope.
The weather is full on cuckoo, and I tire of sneezing my head off.
