impySometimes it pays to ask questions. Not often, mind you, but sometimes. I found out why my poster hasn't arrived and the news wasn't bad. Apparently printing errors kept them held up or something [I'm too lazy to look it up again] and the payment did go through so... eventually I'll get my poster. Happy dance to follow.
Spent my time yesterday before sleep watching Reunion & Supernatural. thoughts behind the cuts. Spoilers entirely possible.
I wasn't exactly expecting a lot from this because someone, somewhere, basically panned the pilot. That person, whoever they were, can go straight to hell because I liked the episode, thank you very much. It's difficult to make me happy when I go in with mixed expectations, but I wanted another episode right then and there. It also kind of lingered which I wasn't sure if it would. There was the creep out factor [I'm sorry, but lying in bed and having blood drip on your face? Kinda creepy] and the "eeep!" moment with the Woman in White's creepy face? Yeah. Freaky. But in that way that says I love it. I love both characters [and still giggle a little when they say Dean, and if you do not know why, I suspect you do not watch gilmore girls.] and I frequently wished I had my quote book. The fact that both are yummy eyecandy? Yeah, that doesn't hurt.
Oddly enough, my favorite bit of the whole thing was the way they handled the fact that they knew what the blue fuzzy a 'Woman in White' was and made you wait a bit before pointing out exactly what the hell it is.
But I figured they were going to off blondie bear to give Sam a reason to ditch his future. I was hoping they were just going to have her cheating on him or something, but the fire thingy seems to really want to show off for Sammy boy there.
I need more. Now. Get with it, boys.
This is the one I actually watched first, not that it matters. Ari basically told me she'd disown me if I didn't watch it, so I made sure to do so. Just a few days later than expected due to me forgetting. *cough*
I was a bit more nitpicky for some reason. Maybe I was a little less sleepy? Maybe it was because the '86 sections, while really interesting, never managed to convince me we were in the '80s. But maybe that's because I don't really remember the '80s, so you'd have to look like you fell out of an '80s movie to do that. *shrug* Once I got over that, I sat there wondering who croaked. Okay, and I did the, "hey she looks like.." and then my brain did the "She was on Angel! And she was one of the few good things on North Shore! And he was on Life as We Know It and is he really supposed to be adorably cute cuz I don't see it" thing. Which luckily only took a few minutes.
I also didn't like how the funeral eulogy went, if only because it was entirely too vague, and I get that it was the point, but it sounded really. Really. REALLY. lame. Got that? Lame. Otherwise, bring on the drama. It did a more than decent job of sucking me into various lives and leaving me confused when the episode ended. Confused in that I was sure there should be more. :p
