I'm still sick. My cold has progressed past the annoying feeling of drowning in your own saliva [what the hell is that all about anyway?] that then leads to gag reflexes that mean you look rather freakish. Add to that the munching a bag of halls a night and my mouth was probably highly toxic and germ infested. Uncool. Now? Now I have no voice. Or rather, I have one for two seconds here and there.
Which, I suppose, is bound to happen when you cheat fate and spend a gazillion dollars and go to the movies at the eye-sore. [there's a movie theatre here that is fairly awesome with the stadium seating and nummy food, but it is the ugliest theatre ever. EVER.] What did we see? The Exorcism of Emily Rose Were the critics right? Did it suck beyond all fun? Or was Ari correct when she said it's supposed to be scary as shit?
Um, I'm not sure, honestly. Neither? The movie was good. I don't regret spending a small fortune to see it and then another small fortune on drinks and popcorn. So it couldn't have sucked. But at the same time, I was expecting it to linger a little more than it has. So far. Thing is, it seemed like it was guarenteed to gimme nightmares and wake me up at 3AM and make me fear orange and green. So far, I think the only one of those is the orange and green. Yucky. Scary enough to begin with.
I am not an overly religious sort. But the idea of posession? Scares the living daylights out of me. Perhaps it's a catholic thing. Perhaps it's a hollywood thing. I don't know. But if you start talking about it too much, my skin starts to crawl and I pretty much have to cram all the fluffy things I can think of in my brain to not freak the hell out. Oddly enough, The Exorcist pretty much lulled me to sleep for the most part. Weird.
Annnnnnnnnnnnd happy birthday

Oddness...
Date: 2005-09-26 04:07 pm (UTC)As far as the movie, oddness that you weren't creeped out about it too much.
My coworker was telling me a while ago that her brother (He's like 37) and his wife went to go see the movie this past weekend and they had the Bejaysus scared out of them...and that they're still creeped out about it. But then again they're...really..uh...religious.
I heard from other people that it wasn't that scary. So I don't know.
It looked like a good movie but things that have to do with "The Devil" and stuff like that utterly creep me out...maybe it's just my guilty concience?! But...oh well at least it didn't stay implanted in your brain and you had to sleep with the lights on.
