impy: tori from jackie's strength video (distance)

I promised this ages ago, but I finally got around to cleaning out enough junk so my camera didn't throw a bitchfit everytime I tried to upload the pictures. I suspect other people are downloading huge friggin' files and not getting rid of them. -_-; Anyway.

Standard disclaimer: The pictures were taken at night, so they naturally suck. I could, in theory, take them all over again, only I'm lazy and it ain't gonna happen unless there's something you're dying to see. Then you ask, and I'll happily overcome the lazy. I forgot to snap any pictures of the inside of the book, woe, especially as the back with the tracklisting for each disc is pretty.

Overall, the new stuff doesn't make my ears bleed. ...Yes. I'm a lousy Tori fan in that it takes me ages to get some songs, and some I just never do. [See quite a bit of Pele.] On the otherhand, I finally fell for Putting the Damage On, so some might consider that a proper victory. By far my favorite new song is Not David Bowie. I'm not sure why, as the start kind of gives me a headache, though maybe it's ability to drown out the craptasticness of hearing the same Olivia Newton-John songs at work had much to do with the love. I don't know, but it's love. I'm not so musically inclined as to be all over the various remastering bits, though I imagine if I listened to one then switched and listened to another, I'd have an opinion of some sort.

Onward with the picture whorage. Presented, briefly, by Tish.

This is the box. Kind of anti-climatic in pictures, I guess, but it's perfectly lovely in person. Just big enough to demand attention, but not so big that I can't find a place to put it when I cycle off my Tori kick. I think it's going to live on the Pullip shelf. Which brings us to...

This is Tish. Tish loves Tori. This is Tish sitting on the piano, which is a bit disrespectful, but since it doesn't actually play, everyone will have to deal. The plan was to have Tish go all Vanna on us for each little bit, but Pullips and flash are an iffy mix if you aren't a fantastic photographer type. I am not, so yes, poor Tish is just here to show the scale. And look cute, because I don't muck around enough with Tish. I imagine she'll be all over the piano when it moves to the shelf she frequents. Muhaha...

*hums* What?

Tish: Presenting the biggest reason to buy A Piano from B&N. You get the DVD, which consists of Tori talking about the various songs [some of the stuff makes it to the book, some of it does not] and if you don't have your copy of Fade to Red it's going to taunt you something fierce. Just sayin'... Anyway, the DVD sleeve is bigger than the CD cases inside, but the design is similar. A little less than half an hour of Tori talking, most of which I spent transfixed by her teeth.

After you lift the book [see above, it's the bit that says "Amos A Piano: The Collection, though the book obviously says Tori as well. It's just hidden under the DVD, and as that's all there is, I didn't take another picture... that came out well. :P] and move the advert to buy all the other Tori albums and things you probably already have or want, you see this. The orange glow is from the lamp, not actually on the case.

Disc A. Grey scaled but the only difference is that the Hz bit after the disc number/letter is in gold. This is obviously the Little Earthquakes disc, which seems to have most of the historically Tori inclined all atwitter. If this is you, then behold! If not, then it's still nifty.

Flip it open and behold! Pictures. Only it's much prettier in person, but again, four AM photo shoots not known for their lighting. Especially when you consider the walls are blue, but that's beside the point. Toriiiiii.

This is the back. All of them are set up similarly, though obviously the songs change. Behold?

Disc B. Pink and Pele.

Again, flip it open and you'll see a prettier version of this. Only this time you can see what the CDs look like. They all look alike, only the wording changes. Because it's a set. Even the DVD looks like this, disc wise. [it doesn't flip open]

Disc C. Pele, Venus, and Tales.

See, if you're slow, the pictures correspond to the timeframe included on the disc. Or something. Loverly. Ooh. Ahh.

I like the side by side thing, kay? Discs B & E.

Disc D. Scarlet, Beekeeper, and choirgirl, also my favorite thus far.

I gotta say the start of Dolphin Song made/makes me think they've got Marys of the Sea [I think] on the disc twice. They don't and it only lasts for about five seconds and then I get about the joy of actually loving this song as well. Anyway.

Disc E. B-Sides.

Woo!

And thus concludes our tour of Tori. Loftier thoughts may come down the pipe soon, but I don't regret putting down the cash for this at all. Yay!
