Top Twenty or so

impyKnow what's fun? Yeah, if you had a buck for everytime I said that...
Anyway, what's fun is popping in a DVD you've been waiting for, grabbing your breakfast [mmm. rice. mmm.], sitting down, and then having the puppy fucking maul your leg in an attempt to get the food she wouldn't even like. My leg? Bleeding. Has a gazillion gashes and puncture wounds and it is so not pretty. I couldn't put the food down because she'd get it, knock it on the floor, and burn herself. I couldn't push her away properly because it took both hands to hold the bowl and keep it from scalding me [sauce, man] and it was just this endless cycle of pain for me.
Later, I found out that she was attacking me because she was hungry, not simply because she's EVIL. I felt bad for her, but then I looked at my leg and all sympathy was dulled considerably.
Poor leg.
Watched about half of the top... however many videos of the year on VH1. Mmhmm. It's always time for a countdown on VH1. I remember, vaguely, when they used to play music and a bunch of Behind the Music specials. Of course, you could set your watch by their morning video rotation. Every morning at 7:15 or thereabouts, they'd play To the Moon and Back. And I watched every. Damn. Morning. Oh yeah, anyway, it was pretty much crap. I know, what did I expect? But then I started to think about it, and I'm not sure I could come up with 20 videos I really liked this year. Hell, I'm not sure I could come up with 20 I liked/didn't run screaming from.
This is my superficial goal for the rest of the year. Come up with twenty videos that didn't make my eyes bleed, or did but it was interesting enough to keep me glued to the set anyway, that played for at least some section of the year. This year, that is.
Lesse. The easy stuff.
1. AFI- Miss Murder
Truth be told, not my favorite video of theirs. Perhaps it's because I spend half the video focusing on the hair [the hair!]. I don't know. But for some reason, the "director's cut" which adds all of fifteen seconds to the video? Awesome. I don't know why. It just is.
2. AFI- Love Like Winter
Love the song. Love the idea of the video. Actual execution leaves me a bit cold, no pun intended I swear. If I could sell someone else's soul and see the extended version on TV, that would be awesome. Alas. Still, I always end up watching when I flip over and see it on. Always.
3. My Chemical Romance- Welcome to the Black Parade
I figure you saw this coming. Not my favorite video, again, but bits of it always make me laugh. Which is unusual considering the actual video.
4. Taking Back Sunday- Makedamnsure
Always, always, allllllways watched it when I caught it on. I did have to cover my eyes for the snake eating the hamster. That was just uncool. *lights numerous candles in memory of the hamster army*
5. Taking Back Sunday - Liar
Again, always watch. With a title like "Liar" how could it not be a polygraph test? Yes.
6. Dixie Chicks- Not Ready to Make Nice
Song stuck in my head? Yes. Video sufficiently creepy? Yes. Love.
7. Stone Sour- Through Glass
I stare, transfixed, by what's going on. The song bleeds into my brain and I am once more held hostage by the sight of blond hair that is fried beyond all hope of redemption.
8. Evanescence- Call Me When You're Sober
Is it wrong to find the wolf, human form anyway, yummy?
9. Evanescence- Lithium
I'm including this despite having only seen it once so far this year. [Christmas, actually.] It played right after LLW, and all those people who compared the two? For once, not crazy. Tis very, very similar. Very prettiful, too.
10. 30 Seconds to Mars- The Kill
Hullo, Shining. You're looking pretty in eyeliner today. I don't know how many times I saw this video, but I do know that it's still interesting.
11. 30 Seconds to Mars- From Yesterday
Yes. I seem to like videos in pairs, though this one just makes my brain leak out my ears a little. How much was cut? What does the full length insanity look like? I don't know, I haven't looked, but I do know that I like the song.
11. OK Go- Here it Goes Again
Oi, you might remember me obsessing previously over them? Yeah, I'm all atwitter that atleast some other people know the awesomeness. If only they didn't seem so enamored of the schtick and less so about the musical goodness. Ah well. I laugh and it annoys certain people whenever it showed up on TV. Goal!
Huh. I've got eight. Anyone want to add to it?
Updated various accounts due to my new debit card coming in, finally. Yay! Found out that Amazon refunded me twelve bucks from when I ordered my nifty version of TBP. Which is odd since that came out in October and my refund came... in December. *blink* But I'm not complaining. Still have other places I should update, but... I'm tired.
And in need of a shower.
Perhaps shin guards as well.
