I woke up hungry. Not just hungry, but "eat something or I will force you to hurl" hungry.
Naturally there's little food even though someone obviously went to the store because there's ice cream where there wasn't before. Guys. Buy food I like. You waltz away with my money and you buy crap I would never eat. Buy something so I don't have to resort to the peanut butter from the jar plan. Which I couldn't even do because there's no peanut butter. G'ah.
So. Hungry. Up way too early for this mess. Still have to work tonight so it's not like I won't be a zombie. I've been a zombie just about every night except maybe Wednesday. Maybe Thursday was just after work that killed me. But last night? I was dead on my feet. Usually I don't mind putting up the new truck but yesterday I could not get motivated to get my butt in gear. I tried. I faked it for awhile. And then... fizzle. I don't get it. Until today I'd been pretty good about getting my sleep [not too much, not too little] but zoooooooommmmbie all the same.
Ah well. Ship my stuff, AG. Ship it.
Tummy is still grumbly.
Investigating new [to me] areas of doll world to see if I like them enough to stick, or just buy the stuff I like and bore the rest of you lot to tears when I feel the need to rant. :p Ah, choices. I will always hate it when people comment that their husband/boyfriend/occasionally girlfriend dislikes their dolls to the point of it ruining the dolls for them in small ways. Particularly if the phrase "lets me get" is used in any way. If you're old enough to be with them, you're old enough to have your own likes and dislikes, your own stuff, and your own hobbies. If they feel so strongly that they belittle your choices, honey, they're choosing to try and make you feel bad. Bitch slap them and tell them to shove off. I don't know why I keep hoping that somewhere there will be a corner of the doll universe where this is never mentioned, but I do. And each time I find it crop up at whatever new place I've found, I want to beat my head against the wall and then slam their head into the wall, then steal their dolls.
That said, parental mockage doesn't bug me as much. Mainly because you're essentially stuck with your parents and odds are you didn't have much of a choice regarding them or your siblings. You fucking chose your partner. :p
And most of this was yesterday's rant.

Date: 2008-09-28 08:06 pm (UTC)I agree, I'm so sick of those topics. Even when people start crap in real life about "how can you spend so much on dolls??" and I'm like "okay, I have a coworker that will pay $300 for a damn gravy boat cause it's 'railroad china' and another who has no qualms about paying $400 for a purse"!! At least my stuff gets played with. And yeah, if my SO made any kind of disparaging remarks about my likes, he would be ass out the door with a big old boot print on it.

I figure that however someone I'm not living with [and depending on to pay bills] wants to spend their money is their business. I will make a crack or twelve over it if they're up to their eyeballs in debt and don't seem to realize that laying off the shiny things will help fix that, but mostly that's a spending issue and not a shiny!doll issue.
