God how I loathe it when people say Girlfriend and it isn't used like "my girlfriend" or "the girlfriend". Really. Really. Hate. Thus I'm really dragging my feet through Beyond the Pale. I think I started this one and just told it to go to hell before because most of this doesn't ring a bell anymore. Except the "Girlfriend!" crap. Seriously, what guy says, "Girlfriend, how did you..."? That's right. This. Book. HURTS.

And yet I want to see if the next one hurts, too.

Damn it, why am I masochistic in reading, too?


No matter for there's whiskey sour mix in the house and I've got a surprise to share later. Today was a very good mail day.

Funny anecdote. Friday night I was closing at The Hut, and the manager said something to me but I didn't understand her. I thought she called me 'girlfriend' when she actually asked me how my girlfriend was. It was really funny because she is very much NOT the kind of person to use the word girlfriend that way.
