I loathe being broke. But, at the same time, I like that middle area where I tell everyone I'm broke and I'm certainly not rolling in money, and what money I do have is ear marked for other things [like savings] so I don't have to worry about buying anything. I can look all I like, but nothing can come home with me for awhile. This means it's best to avoid clearance sales, of course, but otherwise... I can think about stuff I want and not actually have to think about following through. Hell, at the moment the only other thing I need to buy [aside from food] is a whole bunch of pots for my plants.

I'm happy [plant wise] because my iris that I thought was toast perked right up after I moved her to a pot. A little sad that she didn't do well in the area I'd specifically bought her for, but I knew the odds were against me.

"avoid clearance sales"?!? The hell you say?! If anything, you should stop spending money on full price things, and then deem if it makes it to clearance then it was meant to be!

I avoid them when I don't have money to spend at all. Otherwise, I'm all about the orange sticker. Or... whatever is deemed clearance, color wise.
