impyI am lacking in the caffeinated goodness, so this will be brief. Dad is out of the hospital and on a new and not so fun diet to assist his meds in keeping his heart from freaking out again. Kali-kitty is happy about him being back and I'm extra thrilled at not having to trek to the hospital every day. Because, you see, I love my daddy and hospitals are no fun.
Well. This isn't entirely true. Oddly enough, I don't mind visiting people in the hospital other than wishing they weren't there to begin with. I figure this is due to my grandfather landing there quite often while I was a kid, and then for my teens, Dad followed. You either get used to it or it freaks you the fuck out. I got used to it. The boy gets freaked out. However, I'm willing to believe that once you have to have a stay of your own, things change considerably.
*yawn*
Next time I grab a huge book of short stories, smack me. Tell me that I cannot do such a thing because they're always such a mixed bag. Some you read really quickly, either because they're that good or you just can't wait to be rid of them so you can find something else. Some have to be read slowly so you don't miss anything, and some you want to skip, but feel that unless they're truly awful, you should read the whole thing. And it never fails. It will take me two months to read a 300 page anthology, but you give me a 300 page book and that sucker's done in two days, tops. NYARGH. But how could I resist being the first person to read the book? (By Blood We Live)
