...kay... Apparently I am an idiot because I can't decypher the 'new' icon madness. Um, I'm pretty cool with the number of icons I've got now (you know, and the fact that the number should rise every so often due to loyalty whatevers) which happens to be 92 out of 127. I do not want to lose my option for 127 of these damn things. It's not even like I use all of mine on a regular basis. I could probably take out five right now and not even feel all that bad about it. BUT you never know when you're going to need to express yourself in a way that can only be applied to icon #127 of the FUTURE.

Anyway, for the last.. however long, I've been doing the whole paid + $2 worth of icons. It's been so long that I don't freakin' know which option this now translates to. o_O Why has my brain forsaken me?

It's this new icon, innit? It's killing my braincells left and right.

Anyway, if any of you people haven't have your brain eaten by zombies and can figure out my dilemma, or hell, what my dilemma is, I'd appreciate it.

Now, on to other things.

Due to Glee airing on a night where I record something else, even if it's normally at a different time, Glee remains the only show I watch pretty much weekly as opposed to building an insane backlog and then overdosing over any given weekend. (Parenthood, in case you wondered, is also pretty close. I think I'm a couple of episodes behind on that one.)

I promise not to try and convert you to the ways of Glee. In the fall I thought everyone who kept dying from joy over this show, loudly and as obnoxiously as possible, should be kicked in the kneecaps and forced to endure the same treatment but about another show they had no real interest in. See how you like it therapy.

Then Ari kidnapped me and 'made' me watch it. I could have been rude and refused to watch. I could have spent a little more time admiring the hamster than I did. But she was so giddy and I figured maybe this time she'd be right. (I like the Office, but I like Supernatural more, so I never watch zee Office. Reaper had a scheduling conflict before it was killed off for good.)

Annnnnnd at first I was a little skeptical. But she threw me in during a Kurt episode and while I couldn't tell any of the blondes apart for the longest damn time (yes. Seriously.) I think she made the right call.

Anyway. Since Glee returned from Hiatus, I've watched each episode the day after they've premiered. Thus far I love the Madonna episode the most, closely followed by Home, and then there's Hell-O which had better music than Home, but wasn't a great episode for me. Home brings me Santana/Brittany snuggling while Kurt sings. Then again, Home also brought me songs I hear at work far too often and at least one of them I hate with a fiery passion.

But the S/B snuggle was cute as hell and Quinn got to do something for once. Sue was almost at a loss for words, and I like roller-rinks. Mainly because they bring back semi-fond memories. Just about the time I managed to get the hang of four wheels, rollerblades exploded and my ankles wept for the injustice of it all.

There was a slight case of the weepies for Kurt's dad and Finn's mom. Overall, aside from the musical choices, I really liked this episode. But I hope they'll give some of the other cast members some love, too. The cast is so large and it's obviously really difficult to balance screen/story time, especially when each episode seems to demand a Will or Rachel subplot at the very least.

ALSO. I'm going to hell for this, but I could've done without all the April songs. My favorite thing about Glee is when the kids perform at least one big song together, or at least split up into two groups to perform.

Roller Rink Storytime!
I got my glasses in 5th grade. For at least part of 5th grade I couldn't see a damn thing. I kind of just figured you weren't really supposed to see the people on stage during plays and things at school. I really didn't want glasses. We're talking early, early, EARLY 90's so I think you know what sort of glasses were being offered to a ten year old. Think Karen Brewer only chubbier.

Eventually the nurse realizes I'm blind as a friggin' bat and I go to get my first pair o' glasses. I don't remember much other than I didn't love them, purple or no. (There is a reason I love my pay for this Jessica-glasses icon) It was cold, probably around my dad's birthday, and I've been invited to a birthday party at Stardust. Big deal, man. This is the (at the time) better rink and dude, I was not going there wearing my new glasses. Mostly because new glasses will always, always, always equal eye-strain headache as your eyes adjust to this new torture, but also because I wasn't used to looking through the world with frames around things. It took forever to get used to it and it still freaks me out sometimes.

But this logic escaped my parents as they seemed to believe it was better to kill my head during a party than any other time. Finally my devious self pointed out that since I couldn't skate worth a damn anyway, I'd probably fall on my duff, my glasses would go flying, and someone would run them over. How horrible for their first outing!

Point for me. Didn't have to wear them the whole time, but I did have to bring them to wear for a little bit. I think we all know that didn't happen often. I'm pretty sure someone asked me about them, I put them on, and they were satisfied at having seen my dorkitude.

As it happens, I did fall down on the rink, and someone did roll right into me, kicking my ankle (further killing it) and then running over my hand.

Later, when I got used to the glasses, I decided I looked much better with them on than I did with them off, making me the only kid I knew who felt that way. I still feel weird when people ask if I'll ever either get surgery (I'm pretty sure I'd still need glasses afterward. That's how bad my eyesight is.) or contacts, though I no longer feel 'better' in glasses.

Now you know.
