I think I am allergic to something. I keep itching and there's no obvious reason (like it being gnat season or something) and it's not pleasant.

I'm also allergic to stupidity and there's a lot of that going around. Sometimes I wonder how in the hell I ended up sort of in the middle of so much insanity. The good thing, if you can call it that, is that generally speaking it's not of my own creation. I'm just a player in someone else's drama. The downside is that means I spend much of my life being a bit player in someone else's life. How fun is that?

Sadly, this is not the first time I've realized this. It's just that these days the stakes are a little higher.

Maybe I'm not allergic to anything more than stress. *muse* It could totally be that.

In FLUFFIER news, when I get paid tomorrow I'm going to order... something. And then maybe order the smaller something cutes elsewhere. Then I'll wait for the AG on QVC thing and then order a Bitty Twin for Cass. Thing is, this will involve me having to call a store and getting a Personal Shopper on the line. DAMMIT. I hate the phone. The phone is my nemesis. Truthfully, I'm thinking of doing the ordering tomorrow because there's not going to be a BT package I want/can afford for someone's birthday. On the other hand, maybe I'll wait til Monday when I have time.

Whatever. Vague because I don't wish to jinx myself. Lizbeth's bed is here. If I had space, I'd assemble it. I do not. Woe.

I HATE the phone, too. Which isn't so great for my job sometimes, but oh well. Blech. Is the AG stuff on QVC going to be marked down or really good prices or anything?

Last year, QVC's pricing was basically "buy a doll and an outfit, get a more expensive outfit free" plus better shipping and EZ pay. So there are deals, if you're interested in the doll plus something.
Rebecca Normally: $183, QVC is 139.74. Shipping is usually, though not always, cheaper with QVC.

Julie, her bike, and the ugliest effing outfit ever. I'll beg forgiveness if you're a big fan of the 70's jumpsuit of DOOM but it literally hurts me to look at it. :P But EZ pay!
Lanie, the girl of the year is also on ez pay. Bonus, the extra outfit she comes with is on serious backorder from AG direct.

Heeee. I dislike just about everything 70s as well, so no hurt feelings here. I do want her fondue set, but not for freaking $68! I just got the catalogue the other day and have been reading it over and over, lol. Poor Ivy seems to have succumbed to horrible 70s fashion, as well. Normally I'd be all over the Asian doll, but ech on those outfits.

Oooh, Jew girl comes with her bagel and rugulah! But Josefina comes with her goat...decisions, decisions. I wish they just had a ginormous outfit/accessories pack. I prefer my Karitos over the AGs, but I guess it would be nice to have a brand new girl, as opposed to my less than stellar Goodwill one who I can't even remember the name of. -_-

If Rebecca had been on EZ pay I'd have damned myself and snagged her. Cursed EZ pay.

I love Ivy like ... you get the idea. But she was pretty much instantly ripped out of the 70's and will only be returning there to steal Julie's birthday dress and her own New Years outfit. Then she's going to set fire to most of the stuff left behind. Maybe the fondue set will go on sale for Cyber monday? Or hell, one of the weekly sales might knock it down from "are you freakin' kidding?!" to something reasonable.

Always the conundrum, do I go for the doll itself or the clothing/accessories?

Do these things sell out or do I have time to wait for the other ones to be priced and properly listed?

lol Actually I think I'd rather have the crazy giant retainer set. I was showing that to all my coworkers yesterday. "Look, you can make your doll a brace-face!"

Depends on the set. Last year some of the sets were still available after the show and some sold out before they ever even made it on air. (They updated the site at midnight so all the dolls should be 'live'.)

I'm curious to see someone braceface their doll. I've only seen it in the catalog. Do eeeeeeet!

Okay, I just had to resist Rebecca. Still hurts a little though, lol. I'll definately put that saved money towards the mouth kit though. I want a pair of glasses too, any suggestions? Maybe the goat and llama, too...argh. I didn't even realize one of the girls was in New Mexico! She's pretty, but she's got the most boring outfits so thankfully she's easy to pass on. :p What did you end up ordering?

I resisted the lure of QVC. It was touch and go for a bit on Lanie because *insert crazy voice here* the deal was so good. Until, of course, you realize that I don't want Lanie and it would be just as cheap (mostly) to just grab the stuff I did want and not have to figure out what to do with yet another doll. Logic and I do not always get along, but occasionally I pull through.

That said, I have one of the new pairs of glasses (the chocolate pair) coming with Felicity. The last pair of doll glasses I got was the Molly replacement set ages ago so I figured it was possible someone might want/need them. I'll let you know how they end up looking on various dolls.

Yes. That means more of It Came From Bad Photography! Always the best segment around here. :P

Josefina's a cutie, but when I made my one and only trek to the Atlanta store, I realized that of all the dolls, she's one of the most hit or miss for me. That and I gave my heart to one of the display dolls and that, alas, will never be.

I just read Rebecca's book and it's a good thing I waited til after cause I totally would have bought her package, lol. That's what I had to do. The one I have is blonde so DO NOT get another blonde! Didn't realize the goat was so tiny, either. And that the dang llama is retired! boo!

Awesome, I look forward to your photo shoot! It's been forever and a half since I did one.

Urgh, so wish we had a store around here. Or maybe not. Yeah, probably best that there's not. But still it must be amazing in person.

The Atlanta store is apparently itsy-bitsy compared to the flagship stores in Chicago, NYC, and LA, which would explain why initially I thought, "this is it?" And then, well... Then I went into shock at how much stuff they could cram into a store attatched to a mall. (a really, really boring mall, I might add, and our malls blow.)

So many dolls. So many things. Displays where you can actually touch the stuff! Oh, sure, the colors make 99% of photos come out super wonk-tastic, but still! The only downside to having a store nearby that I can see, other than possibly burning my money, would be that if you've got a store in your state, you have to pay tax on internet orders, too.

See? That's the problem with the books. They make you want the stuff. Well played, corporate machine. Well played.
