Behold, FedEx is speedy with their delivery and thus Felicity and the chocolate glasses arrived yesterday. :D
These are not the best of photos. They were mostly taken for someone who is checking her email on a phone so... yeah.

This way you can truly appreciate the oddity of the choker and the fabric choice is looking slick enough that I think you can hear how it sounds when it moves. If not, pretend you can or get really, really sleepy and it'll make sense. Promise.

Some people have a thing against Felicity's eyes. I think these people are wimps. Cowards. Afraid that they will be unable to sleep at night when the weight of laser green eyes falls upon their very souls!

I do not share this opinion. I think Felicity's eyes are beautiful if a bit startling at times. Moving along, I think Felicity is super pretty, although I was a little worried because when I first saw her, I thought, "EEEEEEEEEEEe! So pretty!" and then, because I am an idiot, I messed with perfection.

She looks pretty nifty in the glasses, although not as good as yesterday for some reason. Oh, what's that?

Quit hogging the camera!
I foolishly compared my redheads. Emphasis on fool.

We are not twins. But it does serve as an easy way to tell the differences between the dolls of 1995 and 2010.

Felicity's got a secret... And people who insist that the green eyes are different? Yeah. Not so much, guys.

You can't really tell the hair color differences, but they do exist. Felicity's hair is darker and looks decidedly more brown in person unless the light hits it. HTA's hair is lighter, a bit duller (probably because it needs to be washed), and is more red without relying on light sources.

HTA has claimed the glasses but she did share with a few people before the batteries croaked.

Jess. Jess looked the wonkiest in the glasses, sadly enough. If you look carefully, you can see my window blinds reflected in the glasses.

Nellie looked adorkable, although they do cover up a lot of her freckles and we do so love the freckles.

One more!

Sonali wore them well, but did not photograph as well because the camera was dying. I think she might prefer the two-tone glasses as well. We'll see.

Elizabeth's bed on Bob, my desk. It's huge and the lighting in the room sucks so you have to make do with this. Ivy and Lizbeth are hanging out on the bed and they don't care that I put the bedding on wrong.

Date: 2010-09-16 02:03 pm (UTC)People are weird about Felicity's eyes. "Should I get Felicity even though her eyes bug me?" is asked like, a million times. No. You are not worthy of a Lissie if you can't handle the neon eyes.
Chocolate glasses! Or maybe the two-toned blue ones. But no idea which Kid.

Date: 2012-11-21 12:41 am (UTC)I've decided that cute as the AG doll faces are, I really dislike the soft body because it limits what clothing they can wear. It's especially noticeable on Sonali because the tones are SO different. I know they want the dolls to be huggable, but I do wish they'd make a collector's series without the soft body and maybe slightly older faces so they look more like 9/10 year olds instead of toddlers. :(

Date: 2012-11-21 03:44 pm (UTC)The soft bodies, especially the neck area, do present some serious problems. On the other hand, since they're huggable, you can also take out some of the fluff if they're stuffed too much to fit into their outfits. I have yet to do so to any of mine because I'm lazy and the thought of decapitating Samantha freaks me out. :p
AG did do the Girls of Many Lands but I gather it didn't do so well. Also they were entirely different sizes from the AG dolls but it was a thing all the same.
