Quickie before I see if Mums wanted to watch an episode of Quantum Leap before I pass out.

How did you spend your night?

I spent mine counting cigarettes with someone who reminds me painfully of my most significant ex. I'm sure quite a bit of it was in my head, but it was an awful lot like being around a dialed down version of him and I won't lie. By the end of my night, I was more than ready to go home and I just hurt.

Kind of stupid, given the time lapse and all, but hey. Thems the breaks, yeah? I figure I might as well cop to it rather than pretend it's not still true.*

* Also, being stopped by one of my least favorite customers to be told her father died didn't help. I feel bad enough that when I see her, I want to run in the other direction, but now I feel even worse and, well. The obvious.

Oh, and it sucks when you get to the point where you realize the whole breakup thing was for the best, not just because obviously the other person could live quite well without you, but also because you've realized that you deserved more, wanted something else, weren't as happy as hindsight pretends you were and you still miss them. Plus, y'know, that whole not getting a chance to officially tell them how much they suck or formally lodge a complaint or say anything at all keeps you in limbo. One shouldn't be able to use logic and still feel like this.

So. We roll with the punches and we OD on Gymnasts books courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] luxken27. That's right. THANK YOU.

Glad to know the books arrived safely! And that you were able to get them out of the cling wrap! LOL =)

Sorry to hear you've been flung back in the past with an unsuspecting coworker :-/ That sucks. For what it's worth, I did a lot of screaming and yelling at getting it out of my system even when said person wasn't in my presence, and it helped. But you know. Different strokes and all. *hug*

Sounds like your night was a lot like mine with the cigs and the lamenting about past dating history, only instead of counting the cigs, I was smoking them (bumming from other people while out at bars) and instead of JUST lamenting about past dating history, I was also wallowing in feeling completely disconnected from gay men and thusly any hope for future dating. Going to a gay bar with pretty guys who show no interest in me is never a good formula for a happy evening/next day AT ALL.

If I had more energy/were more rested, you'd have an overly-verbose, melancholy/angsty blog post from me on your hands. LOL!

The cling wrap did not want to let go! So you definitely hurricane proofed it. :D

Poor unsuspecting coworker. But writing about it helped as does the odd "I hope Maine has done horrible things to you" thought. Maturity, I lack.

I do so love my overly-verbose T.S. posts, although I'd rather it was about something happy for obvious reasons.

Curse our night! Curse it. Least you go out and attempt to find someone. I skip the rejection entirely.

Oh trust me, I'm right there with ya after my latest dating excursions. Mind if I crawl into your hole to hide from the world or at the very least an adjacent one?

I don't mind at all. The more the merrier and all that. Or is that misery loves company? *muse*
