Kristy thinks she's the best babysitter ever (wait, that's most books, right?), MA completely ignores her charge's asthmatic trigger and is surprised when, ding-ding, that's what causes a reaction... But it's California and beach and Claud has escargot! I love the escapism of Dawn getting to bridge her two worlds temporarily and as an adult I can completely understand the wanting of that.
