  Secret Santa. Hands down my favorite BSC holiday book, even when I stop and realize "holiday" could also refer to their Halloweens, Valentines, or Thanksgivings. While Kristy should sue for use of that picture of her used on the cover (I hate the cover of Kristy and the Baby Parade with a passion) the rest of the book makes me giddy. I love books that let you pretend you're involved in the story. I love books that let you unfold letters and worry about confetti and while the story is a smidge out there, it's still really sweet.

And I can totally buy that with seven friends and most of those friends having fairly large families and their own best friend (even if it's within the club) and two more associate members... yeah. They'd need a Secret Santa. (We're ignoring the fact that when one does go on vacation, she always comes back with gifts for the others like it's not big some drain financially.)

Also? I totally love the way some of the Christmas wishes came true. :D

(On a superficial note, do we know where the art for Mal's ornament comes from? I can ID the others, what with Jessi and Claud being all Sea City and everyone else but Kristy being from their Portrait books, but Mal's is a mystery to me. Was I robbed of a Mal portrait book?)

Yeah, that was shameless. I should be ashamed. Ashamed! But I'm not. Anyway. It's cold. I woke briefly to the sound of thunder earlier. If the crazy dude a few years ago is to be believed, we should have snow within 2 weeks. Considering I believe that he's been right every time... I'm kind of wondering if it'll happen this time, too.

I somehow slept away most of my day off. Woe. I tried to work on Lila fic this morning and it didn't work out so well. I need to re-read what I typed to see if it's better than I thought (sometimes it's hard to tell when the cat is crushing you) or if it should be scrapped. That said, I think what I scribbled before I passed out is actually going to work so we'll see if it evens out in the wash. If it does, we are one step closer to unleashing this beast upon the universe. Huzzah!

My paint your own ornaments thing is going... weird. The first ornament is still not dry. o_O It's been a week, I think. Maybe a little less, but still! I bet Claudia never had this kind of problem. The third ornament is also not dry, but that's only been two days and one of them I didn't think to turn it upside down so the extra paint could drain. I have hope!

The only one that might be done is the glitter storm and that one I'm not sure of because I inadvertently sealed that sucker up tighter than a drum. So, really, it's done. It just doesn't know it. This leaves me three more ornaments to destroy. *muse*

Pandora seems to feel I do not want anything more recent in my holiday selections than possibly the 70's. Which would be okay but the Carpenters give me flashbacks.

Lesse. I can't wait for payday. I have ideas but no money to spend! I should probably make a list, huh?

*yawns* Sleepy. Must wake up... right?

do we know where the art for Mal's ornament comes from

I'm going to guess a calendar or some other non-book-related item, because I certainly don't remember it. It's a good picture, though, and a shame it wasn't used more often!

(Totally agree with the Kristy thing - that's a terrible picture of her, period...you don't even have to mention that it came from a terrible book, LOL :P)

I tried re-reading... the book of horrible art there, and it was just as bad as I remembered. Some books truly live up to their cover art.
