Rounding up

impySooooooo, the new AG catalog has appeared in bits and pieces online. Yay? Sort of. I'm hoping someone scans the thing or I get my own and thus I can concentrate on the bits and pieces I care about (dammit!). Until then, let us virtually peruse the catalog of McVelma's stuff.
Let's not kid ourselves. McVelma's gymnastic background is a serious selling point for me. I used to be one of those girls who looooooooved gymnastics but couldn't do a damn thing to save my life. (I never made it past the "try to learn a round-off" group in PE. My coordination, she is lacking.) See my love of the Gmnasts book series and the fact that I still happily own the SV Gymnastics books. Oh yes. But really, at this point I'm eying this stuff for Ivy, who is so unloved by AG that one might seriously call them on their anti-Ivy love in a manner most public. But that is a listed rant for another time.
McKenna's Accessories: Includes a mini gymnastics book, McVelma's poetry journal, a book report, a letter from her team, three faux dollars, a pretend snack, and a special necklace, plus a gym bag that holds her gym ID card and pretend water bottle. $26
I could mostly give a flying fig about this if not for the necklace. The likelyhood of this either being bought or Seriously Considered is fairly high. (Also, I am a sucker for letters and books. Also, if ever I end up making a Dawn doll, she'll need some damn granola.)
McKenna's Practice Wardrobe: This sporty gear is made to mix and match: twist sweater, sparkly leotard, gymnastics tee, velour shorts, ankle brace, purple headband, four headbands, six hair elastics, braided ponies hairstyle card. $34
Ivy wants. She won't get immediately (my money, she is gone or mostly spoken for) but unless it looks like ass on Ivy, she'll be getting pretty soon, I think. (I am really hoping someone on one of the AG places buys this stuff and gives it to their Ivy and then takes decent shots of it.)
McKenna's Beam and Bar: $85

McKenna's School Outfit. $28
This is one where it could go either way. It'll either be a resounding yes (purple!) or a "whoa, what died?" reaction once other people get to photographing it in person, be it their own purchases or those in store.
Umbrella and rainboots: Overpriced but cute as hell. Also a good reason not to cave and buy the rainboots that are on their own. Dolly. Umbrella, people.
If you fall in love with McVelma's warmup outfit, you've gotta buy the Starter Set for $185 to get it, the doll, both of her books, and the Practice Wardrobe. Oh, and her accessories. In the picture shown for the Warmup Outfit, she looks just like Lizbeth. Which would explain why I'm experiencing pings of "waaaaaaaaaant." No, self. No. Be good.
McVelma's bed and all the cool stuff including the HAMSTER. Price is too much to mention because, and I'm ashamed of myself for this, but I'm actually considering this if I have any money the first time it's on sale. I'm hoping the hamham isn't as cute as it should be so I can just say "Look, self. It's awesome, it is, but we have to draw the line somewhere and here's as good a place as any."
Jury's still out on the jammas and probably her crutches and cast set. Complete with panda plush! Which... I can probably say no to because I have willpower. Somewhere.
McVelma's dog, Cooper. YES. I never buy these things because they tend to look wrong but that little "i peed on the floor, do you still love me?" face is so damn cute.
Special Outfit? Deciding. Will require further research.
In conclusion, people saying she doesn't have enough stuff are cracked. People saying she doesn't have enough accessories? Fair enough. The ones she does have are either hair related (funny, Kanani had twice the hair and none of the accessories for it...) or are bundled in one very, very expensive bed lot. Will update this on Sunday when the site is updated. Realized when Mums asked the other day how many of my dolls (the AGs) were blond that the answer is two and a half, if you count strawberry blond as blond.

My hands are cold, btw, and my paycheck isn't what it should be. Here's hoping the missing money will be awaiting me at work tonight. Also hoping that next week's three day weekend will be put down as a personal day (since the new year and all means they should, in theory, roll over) so I can have a super friggin' awesome check the next time I get paid. Seriously. Hope for this. Thank you.
ETA: Read this on a RI comm This show is like this generation's Xena (sorry to all yall who actually watched Xena on TV and suchwhat). The majority of the lesbian demographic (as I've observed it) that seems to enjoy it seems to be overwhelmingly younger and basically Jane and Maura are their Gabrielle and Xena.
I'm going to assume that the person who wrote this meant that long before it was ever "confirmed" that Xena and Gabby were more than friends, people saw things that may or may not have been there just like Rizzoli and Isles. Only it doesn't read that way. Cuz I don't know about you, but Xena/Gabrielle? Totally went out as canon.
