impy | Good news/bad news

So, the other day my best friends' grandfather died. It wasn't a shock since he was dying, but that doesn't make it all kinds of keen. The good thing about the knowing it was coming was that they got to say goodbye and spend some time with him. The bad thing is that he was one of the nicest people I've met and now he's gone. Simple as that really. And since there are two friends of mine affected by this, there are two very different reactions. One flipped the hell out and the other one didn't.

And in related news, I'll be seeing both of them this Thursday. That should be interesting. Family holiday, a smidge of grief, and meeting someone who's pretty much changed one friend for the worst. Yay! Bring on the wine. Both bottles.

I kid. Sorta.

Currently reading The River King by Alice Hoffman. Killed off my favorite character pretty much right off the bat. Figures. I always latch onto the broken ones anyway. Must stop doing that.
