Pullips! Again!

Adsiltia! Whom we are just going to call "Ads" now because good lord that's a mouthful for me this morning.

She's been living in my jury rigged lightbox, which meant she's been mostly dust free aside from her hat which is not pictured because of said dust.

With a lollipop that was sold as AG sized. Now, I admit my time in various doll fandoms has been skewed by dolls with huge heads but... um, this kind of lolly should be oversized for the doll it's meant for. Traditionally these are the huge lollipops you have no chance of finishing before ten years have passed, so if it works this well for a Pullip, it's obviously not properly sized for the AG dolls. Just sayin'. Cute as hell though.

Anyone else remember The Torklesons? Yeah, probably just me. Anyway, the sheer amount of brown curls reminds me of Dorothy Jane. For some I imagine this to be a dealbreaker, for others this is a good thing.

She has some of the prettiest eyes I've ever seen. But they're also purple so really, I'm entirely biased.
I think she's quite pretty, but good lord the hair is overwhelming. There's just so very much of it and it's all so curly that I'm pretty sure I had no intention of doing much with it even before she sat in the box with the Dals, safe from the dust bunnies. Of course now I'm curious as to what others have done with theirs since her face up is so pretty. *muse*
Oh, and no pics of her shoes because I don't know where mine are... Hrmm.
Type 3 is still lame, though.

Please do not judge Nicca too harshly on what she's been wearing for the last forever. It looked cute one day (complete with Uncanricky's hat which is now in need of some serious dustbunny-be-gone) but if I had any hope of taking any pictures yesterday, I couldn't outfit swap anyone. I tend to get bogged down by the thirty tons of outfit choices, y'know? Anyway. Nicca is absolutely not sharing her lollipop with you, Ads. Ain't gonna happen.

Why did I not push that first layer of lace down? D: Shame, self. Shame! Random: Afternoon is one of the Pullips Ari liked best. For awhile after she came out, I thought Ari would actually get one (she was in the process of trying to convince her husband to buy her one) but she moved on to other interests. She was also never fond of this outfit choice. :p

Nicca is a ghost in my dolly world. She's still yet to figure out how she died, when she died, or much of anything about her life before her death. We know she's a bit neurotic (I'm dead! Wouldn't that give you a neurosis or two?!) and highstrung when she feels she's being provoked, but she's also capable of being a lovely guest for afternoon tea.

Things to love about Afternoon: Her eyeshadow. BLUE. I forgot to bring up a toothpick so I couldn't do the eyelid pics (woe!), but I love that she's got actual blue eyeshadow and super dark blue eyelids. I love the pop of yellow in the corners of her eyes, and though I couldn't photograph it to save my life, her eyes have blue sparkles in them. Sadly they also look fairly dead (which is why Nicca is a ghost, people!) in person and in photos at times. I love the purple lips and how they aren't super glossy and I love her odd grey hair that seems happy to be flippy. Also, not pictured but her dog is also love. Not to mention her stock outfit. How I love thee, let me count the ways.
But... my Nicca's nose is discolored at the tip! D: How did this happen? When? WHY?! Can it be fixed? Can I stop flailing around because of it? What to do, what to do!

And because she's the only one of these three who got a bio on PS back in the day, here it is:
Name: Nicolette
alias: Nicca
age: Doesn't matter as Nicca has been dead for quite some time.
personality: Nicca is a lady, and she'll tell you this twenty times in your first few conversations with her. She's also, unfortunately, a bit of a bitch. She tends to whine after bouts of invisibility, and has no problem letting the world at large know she's unhappy with the way things are being done. When not in one of her fits of melodrama, Nicca can be funny, snarky, and more than a little vulnerable. No one's sure if Nicca's always been a bit on the high maintenance side, of if it's a side-effect of being dead for longer than she was alive to begin with.
more: Nicca's dead. Very dead. Since she's still here, and frequently intangible, she's also a ghost. Due to the shock of her death, Nicca is thoroughly unable to remember a single thing about her death, or even when exactly it happened. Somehow she managed to acquire a dog, whom she is able to feed and take care of, even when she's unable to do anything else.
She hopes that Alice and company might be able to help her remember what happened to her, or at least give her something to, uh, live for.
Nicca is fond of the color purple, and takes turns sharing certain skirts with Princi. She's taken to spending a lot of time alone again, though Tish has noticed and is trying to draw her out of her shell. When Nicca first arrived, she and Gwen hit it off immediately, though things have cooled between the two since Tish's recent interest appeared. Nicca is utterly clueless as to why.
Ties that bind: Growing friendship with Tish, cooling friendship with Gwen, and seems to regard Dru as her shrink.

Goldfish crackers anyone?

BNP has the prettiest blue eyes EVER. And sadly I'm a crap photographer so you'll have to take my word for it. :P Sparkly blue!

I used to have an Alice rule, and still sort of do: I cannot spend more on a doll than I spent on Alice. Technically I've broken this a few times because the price of Pullip dolls went up higher than Alice cost even after shipping, so I've had to fudge that rule a bit. But that wasn't until the end and it still didn't happen often because of PS's preodering prices. Anyway, as such I fell in love with regular release Purezza but could never afford her because it would break the Alice rule. Eventually I acquired one, but that's not this story. Whenever they decided to do Brand New Purezza, I was intrigued! Purezza with orange hair and blue eyes AND FURNITURE? YES. Capslock joy was had!
Only hidden beneath her promo hat were bangs. Bangs I loathed (and still loathe to this day) because I'm super picky about bangs, and the way JP tended to do them was a bad idea. I was so disappointed, you just don't know. :'( But the thing is, she was still so pretty I couldn't hold the fringe against her. But by this time my fearlessness concerning wig swapping had led me to the realization that one should not pop off a wig until one has found The One to replace said wig. I didn't want to replace her wig and I wasn't sure if it was possible to readjust it to make the bangs a little lower on her face or not. (Sometimes this seems to be an easy fix and sometimes you end up like Evie whose hair is made of complete and utter EVIL.)

So Poppy kept her bangs and wig as is. I do believe though that I'm going to need to rethink this strategy because her wig is in some dire need of conditioning and re-curling. Was it always this dry? *muse* Dunno. So I'm thinking that the next time I'm feeling lucky, I'm going to pop her wig off and see if it can be repositioned and either way, attempt to correct the dryness of it all.

Poppy doesn't have a bio, but she's not completely a blank slate. She's Posey's older sister and best friends with Blair. She's a bit more mischievous than Blair, but is generally speaking one of the more mature Pullips in my army. As far as I know, no real love interests (it's why she gave her necklace to Alice) but she does rather enjoy retail therapy. ;)
And now for some extra shots.

No, I can't explain Poppy's outfit either.

It's funny how the light hits Adsilitia's lips and makes her mouth look open when it's not. She then looks a bit insulted by something Poppy might've said. Oops?

Completely not related to the dolls: The blanket is so not this blue in reality. Who knew it would turn everything eye-blindingly blue?

Lollipop, lollipop...

I do not believe Nicca trusts Ads. I wonder why? Perhaps because Ads has spent the last few years in the land of the Dals. Once you've been recruited to their side, can you ever truly be trusted?
Warnings: The images are huge. The background is super blue (never to be repeated again, I think), and fifteen minutes in, my lamp made a weird spitting sound. I think it was just dust hitting the lightbulb but... yeah. Game called on account of me running away like a little kid. :P

Date: 2012-03-27 03:55 pm (UTC)I guess I don't mind the T3 much since that's what I started with, so I didn't know no better. I rank T4 even worse though since it's too skinny for most of the Barbie clothes and really narrows the field. :( But now, motivation for me to get my shite together!

Date: 2012-03-27 04:16 pm (UTC)I think Ads would be lovely as a play/dress-up doll if a) the hair didn't intimidate someone or b) they were re-wigging. Though I will say that Nicca's and Poppy's hair was way more of a challenge to get to not shed stray hairs in the way. Ads's hair moves as one bunch in a non crinkly-fried way.
