EEEEEEEEEE!
My Scentsy order arrived! *dances all around*
If you want to buy from my party or if you'd rather, you can always purchase goodies from the great and powerful
zallia.

I decided that people are getting Scentsy for the holidays from me. Not all people. Z probably isn't unless she's wanting something and not wanting to buy it herself. Ari probably isn't unless she falls in love with something, simply because her place is pretty much filled to the rafters with Scentsy stuff, and Cass is also unlikely to get any for the same reason Z won't.
Anyway, a party was opened and I bought some stuff for me. Because you might have noticed, but I love Halloween. I also love scented things. This is merely order #1. Give me time and I'll make another.
I settled on Fright Night (plug-in warmer), Ghouls & Ghosts (premium full size), and four scents, which meant I ordered one of the combination sets and then the scent of the month. I had to know whether it was any good!
Cass ordered almost the same thing only hers cost less and she didn't buy the scents.

Ozma investigates the new boxes.

And then the scents. What trickery is this?

The four scents are Autumn Sunset, Pumpkin Marshmallow, CaramelPear Crisp, and Pumpkin Roll. They look so pretty all stacked on top of one another.
They also smell like what you'd expect, given the names. Autumn Sunset is cinnamon-y and smells like some of the better candles you'll find in the Autumn/Halloween sections of stores. Pumpkin Marshmallow is a sweeter take on pumpkin, Caramel Pear Crisp smells very strongly of caramel with an immediate chaser of what I gather is meant to be pear. Mostly I just smell caramel... and sadly it's been eons since I smelled an actual pear. WOE. Finally, Pumpkin Roll is your traditional pumpkin mates with cinnamon scent. All yummy, even if I described them horribly.
I've found that Scentsy is hit or miss with me with the scents. Anything claiming to be overtly vanilla scented smells like ass to me, but some of these probably have vanilla lurking in the mix somewhere and smell really good. *shrug*

Everybody out of their packaging. Look at the ghosts! Torture! Fear! Traditional "boo!" and more. Fright Night is adorable but I've yet to plug it in/assemble it because that sucker is going right in my room.

I hastily did this one which is why G&G isn't assembled properly. There's only one way to put the warming dish on top properly but it's really easy to do unless you're rushing because the camera batteries are dying. :P I forgot, again, to get the little tabs for the plug-in warmers. D'oh!

See? It glows! The dish on top doesn't, but the warmer itself does, and there are cut out eyes which means it throws light around. Now, if I could only get the turn around, bright eyes part of Total Eclipse of the Heart out of my head...
Of course Scentsy is doing maintence right now, so I'll have to edit links back in later.
One last thing, completely unrelated: My quote of the night last night?
If I'm this hot homeless, just imagine...
Said in the most dead serious way possible. Which is a shame, because he was all kinds of good looking but he knew it and was setting off alarms in my head all over the place. (Dead fiance! Two days after he proposed! His heartbreak lead to his being let go from his job which lead to his situation. When I didn't immediately hand over my phone number I was pegged as likely coming out of a bad relationship and why must all the NICE GUYS suffer for the bad boys' actions? WHY? Also, totally not looking to move in with you or anything, just hang out, see where it goes but I totally want to get married, btw. He also managed to cram hooking up in there. Impressive!)
Alas. I require someone willing to laugh at themselves, just a tad.

Date: 2012-09-28 04:35 pm (UTC)Gah! Now I want the ghostie warmer! I decided not to cause I already have the owl and it's all white, but I didn't realize cut-out eyes! Hopefully I can get another party order going, especially with the buddy BOGO deal. I did get Fright Night though! Should be here Tuesday. Then I chose Dominica, Festival of Trees and Snowberry. And more Hemingway. I think the spiciness of that one will suit fall really nicely as well.

Date: 2012-09-29 02:46 pm (UTC)The ghost warmer is taunting me. I have to clean off my bathroom counter to have a place to use it. Or maybe figure out if there's a plug behind the Halloween display in the front room. *muse* Since I've yet to see Whoot in action (Mums, why do you torture me so?) I'm only 89% sure of this, but if I'd had to choose between the two, I'd go with Whoot. Owl! Who can say no to owls? Exactly. It's why there are eleventy-billion decorations this year with them. It's a thing.
Ooh, I do love Hemingway, so I'll be waiting ever patiently for your thoughts on the other three. Widget is interested in Festival of Trees and I was all set to throw that in the next time I order something, but then someone else warned it was a little musky and that usually results in headaches for me.
I want those buddies. Which ones are calling you? And are they calling you as a consultant or as a customer?

Date: 2012-09-28 10:29 pm (UTC)I'm assuming this was a customer? Because yes. The fact that he deigned to share that much of his, er, past with you as just a random girl at an all-night drugstore? Creepy McCreeperson doesn't even begin to describe it, LOL :P
I am envious of your Scentsy stuffs! Alas, in my advancing age I've discovered I'm horribly sensitive to fragrances, and unwilling to buy anything that I can't test out first. Pumpkin marshmallow makes me happy, even though I'm not terribly fond of pumpkin, LOL :P

Date: 2012-09-29 02:53 pm (UTC)I feel your pain on the fragrance issues. If I didn't have Cass around to run over and return things, I'd probably... actually I wouldn't know about the stuff to begin with. But yeah. I can still smell the first two or three I bought and they were most foul. And one of them is apparently a best seller. o_O After she took mine back, she offered it to 15 or so people and everyone had the same reaction of "close it! close it quick before we all die!" so who is buying this scent?
Pumpkins are tricky creatures. Their seeds are delicious. I love the smell of them being tortured by an actual candle (that plus a bag of candy and those cheap metallic-y garlands smell like Halloween to me) and carving them is fun for three seconds. But I can't stand pumpkin pie and yet every year I keep thinking "THIS will be the year!" and it never is. Only the soaked in booze and still fluffy and light version that mums makes is acceptable. But pumpkin smells so yummy! And this is a book, so I'll hush.

Date: 2012-09-29 04:17 am (UTC)I have the Autumn Sunset and Pumpkin Roll bars and I LOVE them. I wish I had money because I would so buy more warmers and scents if I could. I love that Fright Night one! So cute!

Date: 2012-09-29 02:57 pm (UTC)I started with Pumpkin Roll and it smells so good! I can't wait til tomorrow when I can ramp up the Halloween decorations and figure out where to put the Scentsy warmers. :D

Date: 2012-11-24 02:22 pm (UTC)Stocking Stuffers, eh? *muse* I might just have to remember that for Mums and Widget. Not the boy since it would ruin the surprise but otherwise... *ponders*
