31 Days of October, Day 29: Home Edition

I thought I would take a moment and share with you the state of my Halloween. This does not include the AG Army who as of 3pm this afternoon finally finished getting dressed. We have witches, kitties, a fairy tale character, and oh yeah, a freakin' stable full of Unicorns. ;) For all that work, they'll have to wait until tomorrow for photographic evidence.
No, this is my crafty endevors and the failure/success rate, plus some shiny things thrown in for funsies. You ready?
Sure you are. ;)

^ This was the goal a couple of years ago. 2009? 2010? I don't remember, honestly. Anyway, it was meant to be a project for the Widget and I to do together and we all know how well those work out. This one was a bit of a tug of war over who could do what and when.

Finished product however many years later. The ghosts have moved on (they were blow-pops after all) but the house is holding up better than I would have expected.

Scootch a little to the left and you'll see the rest of the display up there. My glitter pumpkins from Target last year (why are this year's all carved? D: ), my winter lantern from Big Lots, my "Martha didn't include enough leaves to finish this wreath no wonder it was on clearance" wreath, my bat!funkin, and my Scentsy warmer. :)

Pan to the right and we've got the empty bookcase of Halloween stuff. Second shelf has one of those kits from the craft store that I painted one year and glittered the next. Bottom shelf (not the actual bottom shelf as that has a huge ass spider I don't bother) has the funkin Widget stole and did... interesting things to.

A little more to the right and we've got the mail area with the ghost stuck babysitting the pumpkins. Also, I found my cauldron from last year. The other one needs a bath. Which means I need to buy another couple of glow sticks. :D You can see the Martha Stewart streamer curtain in the background. (far right)
This table will be redone for Halloween, though, to make room for the jack-o-lanterns.

Skelly says hey. I like the reflection in the mirror.
Now we duck into the living room for some decorations:

Pardon the pile of magazines I need to move out of the way. This isn't everything up there, and it's prettier when lit up, sort of. The light strand you see is a candy corn set from work. It's very, very orange. Eye-searingly so.
The hard to see candelabra cutout is from the dollar store and I glittered the hell out of it. :)

Living room bookcase, all decked out for Halloween.

This candle? 2.99 at work. 9.99 at Harris Teeter. Same. Candle. WTF?

I hope they bring them back next year or I find some more. The green is surprisingly pretty! (Bought Cass the purple version of this.)

Widget and Dad on the far right.

Work candle from last year's clearance, dollar store lantern for Widget, my spray painting goodness, and the dollar store tree that I glittered last week.

With flash. I think they're nifty.

♥

Widget and I went walking last night. This was seen on the way home.

Creepy corner is creepy.

And today I broke out my Target Halloween plates. I didn't take pictures of the set I bought Cass because I thought "these are so awesome they'll be online in a million places." I thought wrong. The appetizer plates are, but the regular plates? Only after someone has redone them for an art project. Tis a shame as they do make eating more festive!
